SMOKE READINGS Smoke Reading Tutorial ( soot reading ) By:David C Fantone Crt. Psychic a.k.a. BooBear707

A 'smoke reading' should realy be called a soot reading, as it is the soot that is left behind on a peice of paper that is held over a simple candle.  But I guess that smoke reading is more appealing and dramadic as well. The candle that I prefer to use is a simple white utility candle in a simple brass holder as seen here on the left.  All that is needed to preform a Smoke Reading is a peice of white paper and a candle.  As I said earler, I use a white candle, but if you prefer to use a colored candle then i suggest that you go by what moves you and your spirit.  Like all Tools and Readings, the more energy that you put into it the more you will get out of it.  And in this case candle color is up to you. As for the type of holder, I prefer to keep it simple as well.  This way it will not interfer with the objective at hand.  By haveing an over done candle holer, it could take attention away for the person that is 'smokeing' the paper.  So i prefer to it all simple.

In this photograph you can see only one hand holding the paper.  The other hand was cut of in the editing.  But in a real reading the paper is held with BOTH HANDS.  Unless of course you only have one hand and if this is the case then do your best.  To begings this one should be in the right frame of mind as well as mood.  If you haven't all ready connected to your Guides, Spirit, Higher Self, or God. then it is advised that you do so before starteing.  This also applys to protecting yourself as you see fit .

Once you are ready to begin  to smoke your paper, I suggest that you either write a wish  or a question on the paper itself ( on the UP-side ).  If you can not think of a question or a wish then i would suggest that you write your full name on all 4 corners of the paper.  This way you are putting some kind of energy into the paper as well as what you are doing. Now that you are ready and you are comfortable, make sure that you are not reaching for the candle.  Relax, pick up the paper and move it over the candle at random.  It may take a few trys to get comfortable with the flame as well as with yourself playing with fire. We 've all heard the saying " where there is smoke there is fire " and in this case it is also true.  So you don't want to stay in one spot for to long.  If you do see a brown spot on the side of the papner that you are viewing from the top looking down.. then there is or will be fire soon, so keep it moveing.

If a fire does break through the paper, you should be prepaired.  When i preform this reading for myself or for others, i always have something near by to put the fire out.  As this is just a simple paper fire that 'should' not get out of control, you can place the burning paper in the sink or on cookie sheet or anything that will not "FLAME UP" .. then simply smug out the fire. You will know when to start smokeing your paper as well as when to finish. There is no right or wrong way to do this.. Even a paper that has been burned or had wax get on it is revelent.

Now turn your finished paper over and you will see the smoke ( soot ) marks on the paper.  From here the rest is up to the person, the psychic, the spirit to 'SEE'.

Here is a simple burn hole.  What can you see in the edges on in the hole itself?  How about the crusty edges?

This is a finished smoked paper and ready to be read.  As you can see the paper was burned and it also was so close other times that it has WAX marks on it as well .

The paper should be READ from all directions.  There is no top or bottom.  Like Messages that come from all directions so will the images that you will see in the paper, if you have the mid to rotate it and view it from all directions. I hope that you will try this reading.  I have been useing it for years and it is a real show stopper.  Most clients want more from a reading that to just sit there and listen to a reader discuss the cards that lay in front of them and this is a way to get the client more involved in their own reading.  Also they may see something in the images that makes sence to them that you can not see
