| As you should know by now, puffers are very aggressive fishes. This factor makes it unsuitable tank mates with most fishes. However, fishes that are as aggressive or have some sort of defense method can be kept with puffers. As a rule, fishes that can fit into a your puffer's mouth should not be kept together wth it. Inverts like snails should not be kept with puffers as snails are puffers favourite food. These are suggested fish that can be kept with puffers. Freshwater Barbs - Very aggressive fish and suitable with puffers Plecos - Their tough body armour makes them invunerable. Cichlids - Very aggressive and suitable with puffers Brackish Bumblebee Gobies - For some reason, puffers just don't like to eat bumbleebee gobies even though the goby is only over an inch long. Cichlids - Certain cichlids can tolerate brackish like the Orange Chromide Archer Fish - Can be kept with puffers. Mollies - Agressive livebearer but suitable as a algae eater in a brackish tank |
