| At first glance, puffers may seem cute and docile. But once again, looks can be deceiving. Puffers are notorious fin-nippers and are very aggressive. They can be kept with other species of fish which are equally as aggressive but I will cover more on puffer compatibility in separate article. Puffers are aggressive among their own kind. To deal with this if you are planning to keep more thank a puffer in a tank, aquascape your tank to be structurally complex, with lots of hiding places. Once again, I will cover more about this in the Tank Set-up page. Some puffers tend to be territorial. Puffers are preadators by nature, so you can't actually 'tame' a puffer so that it will not be so aggressive. Aggressiveness in puffers increase with age. In some ways, puffers can be 'tamed'. Puffers can also be very tame towards their owners and may even hand feed! |
