This month, December, you will get block 2, and January, come and get the sashing and the borders.
The quilt will be 77" X 88.5"
You are going to make a total of 21 Block #2s.
Fabrics (these fabrics are for Block 2 and borders): Lt Cream: 1 1/2 yards
Purple(should be a little lighter than purple in block 1) 1 yard
Medium Gold : 1 yard
Dark blue: 4 yards (includes borders and sashing)
Olive: 1 yard
Cream with blue print: 1 1/4 yard
Time to make those half square triangles!
All the squares will be cut 3 3/8".
For each block cut:
Cream with blue print: 1
purple: 3
Medium Gold: 3
Dark Blue: 2
Lt Cream : 4
Olive: 3
combinations of HSTs:
Purple & Dark Blue: 4
Take 2 purple squares and pair up with 2 Dark Blue. See directions for making HST bleow.
Purple and Gold: 2
Take 1 Purple and pair up with 1 Gold.
Lt Cream and Gold: 4
Take 2 lt creams, pair with 2 gold.
Lt Cream ane Olive : 4
Take 2 lt creams and pair with 2 olives.
Cream with Blue and Olive: 2
Take 1 Cream with Blue and pair with 1 Olive.
Look at the layout of the block above and piece together accordingly. Be careful while placing your HSTs.
Set the left over fabric aside for the borders.
To make Half Square Triangles: Lay one square face down on top of another square (ie: cream on tan). Draw a line diagonally across the back of one. Stitch 1/4" on each side of line. Cut apart on line. Press to darker side.
