ANGEL OF MINE BY:JLaLa Queen Serenity looked down at the sleeping five year old in here bed.Sadness ripped through her for in a few minutes she would be sending her only child away to Earth.The moon was at war and to save the future heir of the moon it was best to send her away.Time was passing fast and Serenity shook her child softly.Princess Serena opened her sweet cornflower blue eyes and looked at her mom.With a sweet smile on her face she sat up in her bed. "Mama,what is it?",she asked and her mom stared at the child trying to memorize her little features. "Darling",the Queen began."You know that our planet is in danger and for safety reasons I must send you away" "No Mama!I wanna stay with you",the young child pleaded.Her words broke her mother's heart."I promise I'll keep out of trouble" "Serena I would not do this unless I felt the situation was dangerous. If I could I would keep you here but I love you too much to risk your safety",Serenity said and the little Princess nodded tears in her eyes.The hardest part was coming up."Also sweetheart for security reasons I must erase all your memories of The Moon Kingdom" "Everything?",Serena asked with wide eyes."Even you?" "Yes",the queen said in a sad whisper."Even me.Please understand Darling.Do not fret for we will me again and when we do your memories will come back.Now do you understand?" "Yes mama",the young one said and hug her mother tightly. "Now sleep my child",Serenity said and the child laid down."I love you Serena".After she kissed her little girl one last time she began the process of erasing her memories.The child began to glow brightly and Serenity concentrated hard until she had transported her Serena safely to earth.But before she left the Queen slipped a Small necklace that had a Crescent Moon charm on it."Farewell Little One". ************************** Nine Year Old Prince Endymion aka Darien walked through the wood in a quiet pursuit.He was hunting with his four friends Jedite,Neflyte, Zoisite and Malachite all of them his age.As they all walked through the forest quietly they did not notice that a little blond headed girl laid asleep a few inches from them. Serena opened her eyes and looked around to see herself in a wooden area.Behind suddenly some bushes rustled and a group of boys were tiptoeing backwards towards her.Suddenly one of them stepped on her hand. "OWWWW!",She yelled and suddenly kicked the boy in the ankle as she got up making him fall to the ground.The boy got up quickly and saw the little girl holding her fist in fighting position. Darien laughed at the tiny thing and was punished with a swift punch to the jaw. "Who are you?",he asked and rubbed his jaw.Serena looked at him in confusion.Who was she?She couldn't remember.*Serena*,a voice in her said. "Serena",she said.They looked at her in a dirty pink dress with her face smudged."Who are you?".Pointing at Darien who glared at her. "Prince Endymion",he said standing as tall as he could."My guards Jedite,Nefltye,Zoisite and Malachite".Each bowed as a sign of respect towards other as the Prince rudely look at her."Where are you from Serena?" Serena looked up at him in comfusion.For some reason she had no memory of who or where she came from.She only knew her name. Serena.But Serena what?With that she began to cry. "I don't know",she sobbed and the five boys demeanor softened. "All I know is my name but I have no memory of anything else. I just woke up here and he stepped on my hand!" She pointed at him from her position on the ground.Darien who looked ashamed and sat next to her. "Do not worry young one",he said kindly and handed her a hankerchief. "I will bring you to my mother and she will know what to do" Serena looked up him and he caught his breath at her vibrant eyes.She smiled up at him. "Thank you My Prince",she said whipering in gratitude. ********************** Queen Gaia sat on her throne looking down at the young girl her son had found.As he explained her story Gaia felt a twinge of sympathy for her.*The poor thing*,she thought and looked at the sad blue eyes of the five year old.*What shall I do with her?*Looking around Gaia noticed her young handmaid Ilene looked wistfully at the child.Ilene had wanted a child but had not yet be blessed.Her husband Ken and herself hoped nature would soon take it's course. "Oh poor dear",she said to the young girl and beckoned her to seat on her lap.The child did so and Gaia looked into her eyes.She could not possibly dismissed the child away.For she cared for her already. "Ilene".The queen called her yound maid and the woman responded quickly rushing to her.After bowing she looked up at the regal queen. "You have been a dear servant to me and a confidante as well.I would like to ask if you would like to have the child as your own to love and care for.She may lived here with you and your husband in your apartment in the servant's quarters.This is your choice my dear". The blue haired woman looked at the child and smiled.Something in her had made the woman love her already.The little girl looked at her intently and smiled.Serena trusted this woman and if this woman would have her she would gladly called her mother. "My Queen I'm would honored and delighted to have her as my child", she said timdly."That is if the child will have me as her mother" The girl ran to Ilene's arms and the two seemed connected.Ilene looked up at the queen and smiled with tears in her eyes."Thank you your majesty" ********************** Serena lived a good life in the palace with her new mother and father whom she loved dearly and vice versa.She was tweleve years old now. Hanging out with the Prince and the Guardians had made her a kind of tomboy which she didn't mind at all.Sure she wasn't a beauty and she wasn't in a rush to be.Serena wore her long blond hair in a tight coiled braid around her head and when she wasn't riding horses or fighting with the boys she was reading.She had to wear a pair of reading glasses which made her a classified geek but others opinions didn't matter.The boys like her enough.Over the years Serena had grown closer to the five boys who had been her saviors.She had also made Darien her surrogate brother for the two shared a bond like no other. They were able to finish each others sentences and read each others thought making the others think that they had crush on each other.The two whole heartedly agreed the there were no feelings of that sort.Why would a sixteen year old prince waste his time with a adolesent as herself.Ridiculous!She couldn't help but wonder,he was very handsome after all.Darien had raven black hair and a bright blue eyes that competed with hers.Quickly she shook that out of her head! As she walked through the palace she walked towards the royal library. The queen didn't mind for Serena was like a daughter to her and the palace was her home though she was no royalty(Little did they know!). Sitting on the floor she propped her glasses on and began a book about the different planets with a knock on the door interuppted her. "Come in",she said and Darien walked in.Smiling she patted the cushion next to her and he sat."What's up?" "I have bad news",he said sadly and she looked up at him with worried eyes."My mother is sending me to an Academy for young men" "For how long?",she asked sadly for she would be lonely without her big brother.Serena also knew the guards would have to go too and this made her feel far worse. "Four years",Darien said and he felt a stab of pain for he didn't want to leave Young Serena alone.Tears fell from her face and like many times he pulled his hankerchief out.She laughed in spite of herself thinking of when they met.*A memory* One to replace the others she had lost. "I leave tommorrow morning" "You will write,won't you brother?",she asked and he nodded at her. Hugging him she got up and left the room so he wouldn't see anymore of her tears.This would only make him feel worse. ************************ The next morning was cold and gray.*Fits my mood*,Serena thought and looked at the carriages being filled with luggage.Darien and the four guard stood watching.Serena looked at each and hugged the four.She would missed them in spite of their teasing.Walking to Darien she suprised him with a small package. "Open it",she said and he did revealing a dozen silk handkerchiefs with his Initials on it."To replace the ones I've taken from you". She laughed and he joined in.Suddenly he grabbed her for a hug. "I shall miss you dear sister",he said as he got into the carriage. "Write as much as you can".
