"Very Grave",Queen Gaia said and sat in her chair behind her desk."I'm afraid that indeed we will soon be at war".Her fingers grip the chair's arms till her knuckles were white."The NegaVerse is preparing to attack soon as they did to the Moon Kingdom,sixteen years ago" "Then we must prepare",Thomas said."The soldiers are ready and prepared but when do we inform them?" "Tommorrow",She answered."I'm afraid however we might not be strong enough,after all the Moon Kingdom had a very strong army".She got up and began pacing."It might come to calling another planet for help" "Your majesty",he interjected."The only way we can do that is to form an alliance and to do that we must-" "Yes",she interuppted."The Prince must marry".She sighed praying it wouldn't go to this.Queen Gaia had wanted her son to marry who he loved but desperate times called for desperate measures."I had tried to avoid this possiblity for my son but it will almost certainly come to this" The guard nodded and dismissed himself.The Queen sat down and folded her hands on the desk.Leaning forward she sighed hoping it wouldn't come to that."I must inform the Prince and his Guards soon.Please let me have the strength to do this" ***************************** Serena sat on the floor of the hallway listening with tears running down her eyes.Everyone who she cared was in danger and most of all Darien might have to get marry.The pain in her ripped at her insides. The Queen said it would almost certainly come to this.Suddenly a voice whispered in her ear,*You play an important part to the world*. "What?",she said and turned to look for the voice."Me?But How?" She sat and thought about it when it struck her."The necklace I have to find it but where?Duh my parents!".She would go to them tommorrow but for now she tired and wet.Slowly she trudged to her room. ***************************** The next day as Serena sat in a tree near the palace,she thought about what she heard.They'd be notifying troops today and then servants.Her parents would know soon enough.However the whole Kingdom was unaware of dangers coming.The day was beautiful, with the bright blue sky and the warm breeze tousling her long hair.Closing her eyes she absorbed it in as if she were trying to preserved it in her soul.Serena failed to noticed that her friends were approaching her.Darien climbed the tree and sat next to her. "Penny for your thoughts?",he asked and she turned unexpectedly making Darien fall to the ground. "Oh my gosh!",she said and jumped from the tree gracefully and went to him."Are you alright sweetie?" "I'm alright",he answered and rubbed his bottom."I'm a little embarassed,right now".He got up and hugged her."What were you doing up there anyways?" "Nothing enjoying the view",she answered."What are you guys up to?" "We're going on a picnic",Ami told her holding picnic basket up to her view."Wanna come?" "Sure",said Serena and they went to a small hill above the lake they went swimming in.After setting up they ate a lunch of sandwiches prepared by Lita and a huge chocolate cake she also made followed for dessert.Unfortunately they had forgotten forks so they had to use the fingers.Nevertheless it was delicious and Serena drooled when she tasted it. "Did I ever tell you how much I love you Lita",she said appreciatively and smiled.Her fingers were smothered in chocolate. "Let me taste",Darien said.Serena took a piece of cake and put in his mouth.He licked her fingers clean and then wiped his mouth. "Not bad Lita.That's some talent you got there" "Thanks",Lita said and Neflyte put his arm around her proudly. This made her blush and look down.Serena and Darien made eye contact,a knowing look of what was happening cross their face. "It's one if those lazy days",Mina said and laid on the ground. *Lazy days indeed!",thought Serena bitterly and a sad look came to her face.Gasping she turned away to the others so they wouldn't see the tears trying to fall from her eyes.She spotted her mother in a distance walking slowly and forlorn like she was going to a funeral. Serena HAD to talk to her.Standing she smiled at them nervously. "I have to go talk to my mom,so I'll see you guys later",she said quickly and left.Everyone looked at her leave in a rushed state. "What's with her?",asked Raye looking at her worried. Everyone shrugged and comtinued with their relaxation except for Darien who suspiciously looked at Serena running to her mother. ********************************** Ilene had went to her apartment in the servants' quarters and sat next to the kitchen table.Burying her head in her hands,she tried to calmed herself.The Queen had informed her of what was ahead and the precautions they were to take.What would happen to her life? Her family?Ilene worried most of all for her daughter.How would she protect her?Serena entered the room and saw her mother in a fit of despair.Placing her hand on her mother's shoulder Serena sat next to her.Ilene attempted to tell her the bad news but the words would not come out of mother. "Don't mom",Serena said firmly but gently."I already know".She hugged her mother when suddenly her father came in. "I just heard",he said and kiss his wife on the top of her head and kissed Serena's forehead."The queen has informed everyone of her plans" Sitting between them he held their hands."Don't worry" "But I must worry father",Serena said and they turned to her."I must help" "But how?",he asked and his brows knitted together.She looked each of them wondering how could she get the words out.What was she gonna say?That some weirdo in a dream told her she was important and she had to find some necklace that probably didn't even exist? "Mom,Dad",she began."When you guys adopted me,did I possibly have a necklace with me?".She looked at them trying to decipher the looks on their faces. "Why yes,you did",her mother answered."I remember when you fell asleep. I took it off so you wouldn't lose it" "Then it's true",she whispered and a look of concentration was on her face.She was so out of it her father started to shake her. "What?",he demanded."What's true?" "The necklace,where is it?",she asked and her mother quickly fetched it.It was still shiny,time had not dulled it.The crescent moon was very intrictly carve and it was on a silver chain.Something in her made her shake with determination.She knew what she had to do. "I have to go" "Where?",her mother cried. "I have to go to the Moon Kingdom",she answered back."I think I can help Earth if I do" "Are you crazy,Serena?",her father yelled and stood up."What makes you think you can help?" "I know it sounds loony but I've been having these dreams",Serena said softly taking her father's hands."They've been telling me I'm important in aiding the war.I also need to find out what's going on with myself then I'll truly know who I am.I think this necklace might help me in both ways.I love you guys and you are my parents always but whether or not you say I can go I'm going" "Oh Serena",her mother sobbed."You have such a strong will but you're still my little girl and I'm going to so worried to death when you go" "You're letting me go?",she asked surprised.Serena didn't know they'd subside so easily. "We always knew you had a special gift in you",her father told her."Now you'll know how to truly use it,we only ask that you take this".He took off his gold pocket watch and took some money from a coin bank they had.Serena stood in amazement as they gave her every valuable thing they had that could fit into a bag. Her parent were about to take off their wedding rings when she stopped them. "NO",she said firmly."I am not take your wedding rings" "Serena",her mother said."Your father and I love each other.We don't need rings to tell us that" "I won't take them",she said."You guys have given a lot already, keep them as a symbol of love".Twisting off a ring she had been given from her parents long ago Serena placed it in her mother's hand and closed it.Her mother looked at her closed hand.Tears ran down Serena's face."Keep this as a reminder of me" "We love you,Serena",her father said his voice thick with emotion. They all enveloped each other in a big hug and Serena began packing her clothes.She had one bag and knapsack,enough to last her for whatever time she'd be gone.It was night and everyone was asleep when Serena prepared to leave.As she walked out the door,Serena turned around to look at parent standing at the doorway."I love you" With that she left but Serena had one last stop.She walked slowly to the other side of the palace where the royalty slept.Stopping at Darien's door she hesitated but took a deep breath and opened the door.It creaked as she stepped in but as she closed the door her fear of getting caught had diminished.Walking quietly through his sitting room Serena went into his bedroom.Standing in the doorway she watched her love sleeping peacefully.His chest rising and falling in deep content.She quietly memorizing his handsome features in the light of the moon.Taking a deep breath she shook him awake and he opened his deep blue eyes.They focused on Serena and he smiled softly at her. "Hey",he said and stretch. "Hey",she answered in a choked voice.Serena resisted the urge to sobbed loudly,she could only let her tears fall silently down her pale face. "What's wrong,Serena?",Darien asked with concern and sat on his bed. "Why are you crying?" "I'm leaving",Serena said and sniffled.He couldn't speak for a moment which seemed like eternity.Regaining himself he wiped the tears off her face. "Why?",he asked her. "Darien",she began and tooked his hand."Many dangers are ahead.Maybe your mother hasn't told you so I'll save her the burden.Your Kingdom is at war with the NegaVerse,within a week your whole life will change. Recently I've been having this dream telling me I could help the earth. I love you and I wanna keep everyone safe,So I'm gonna listen to this dream and find out what I can to do to help" "Where?",he asked her sadly.She held up a simple necklace with a charm of a Crescent Moon. "Here",she said and looked seriously at him."It's only right that I follow these dreams" "Then I'm coming with you",he said and got up.Serena pushed him back and held him down. "No",she told him."You are the Prince and Future King of Earth.You have to stay and help defend your Planet.You leave and the only person who will benefit from that is me.Millions will die but if you stay you can keep millions alive and safe" "My dear,brave Serena",he said and held her tightly."How can I let you do this?" "I'm not just some empty headed ditz",she told him and he laughed."I'm got my wits and if I can kick your ass I can surely take care of myself" They both laughed but stopped suddenly when the laughter was replaced with Serena's sobs."Look at me crying like a baby when I promised myself I wouldn't do this" "Go ahead it'll keep me from doing the same thing.Cry enough for the both of us",he told her and she did.Nervewracking sobs came from within her for she would truly miss her friends and family.She also a deep fear inside that she might possibly never come back. "Darien,kiss me",she told him."This might be your last chance for awhile".He did what she said and they kissed.For awhile the fact that she would be leaving soon was swept from their mind.The only thought in their head was each other.The kiss seemed to seal a promise of love. Something in them seem to erupt and he laid her down on his bed. His chest laid on hers and he could feel her heartbeat.Serena began to unbottom her dress and was soon in her underwear.He hesitated and looked at her eyes,so innocent but something in them was firm. "Serena,we can stop you know",he told her and she put her finger to his lips. "Keep in mind that we might not see each other for a long time",she said.They subsided to the passion within them and Serena cried silently knowing this moment would be pressed in her mind forever. *********************************** Serena woke up and realize that Darien slept next to her.Gathering some blankets to cover herself up.She went to put on her clothes but Darien awoke and pulled her down.Serena laughed quietly and kissed his forehead. "Promise",she said simply. "Promise you what?",he asked her in confusion.They laid side by side and looked at each other. "Promise me that you'll think of me",she said sweetly.Her head rested on a soft pillow and her golden mane covered it like a blanket. "Every hour on the hour",he promised and touched her soft cheek.She kissed his palm and a tear fell from her eyes into his palm. "Do you want me to come with you?" "Of course I do but for now I need you to stay",Serena told him.Getting up she took her clothes that strewn all over the floor.After she had finished dressing Serena put Darien's head on her lap.For awhile they sat in silence thinking that this was indeed the last time together. Serena started to hum a tune of a song she knew and before long was singing it: Look into my eyes You will see What you mean to me Search your heart,Search your soul When you find me there You'll search no more Don't tell me It's not worth trying for You can't tell me it's not worth dying for You know it's true,Every thing I do I do it for you... Serena pushed the hair from Darien's face and gently stroked his head.His eyes drooped sleepily but when she stopped singing his eyes opened again.He looked at her and touched her sweet,cherry lips. "You sing like an angel",he said to her and Serena laughed at his compliment. "That's so sweet",she gushed."...But corny".After whacking with a pillow he surrendered. "Okay,Okay",he said."But it's true.You look like one too" "HaHa",she scoffed.Suddenly a crash downstairs was heard and the rumble of footsteps.A loud voice yelled for the queen.She knew what was happening.The NegaVerse was approaching Earth.They had come to inform her majesty.Serena silenced Darien and started to walk toward the balcony.Before she did she kissed Darien one more time and they held each other.Both were scared out of their wits about what was happening but knew that there was no turning back.Darien looked at her face and saw the fear,the heartache but most of all the love she had for him. "I love you,Angel of Mine",he said and kissed her forehead. "I love you too",she said in a sad whisper."Darien,do anything you must to keep Earth safe and I do mean anything.Promise?" She thought of the Queen's conversation and if he had to marry he must.She was just one person and to make an alliance with another Kingdom might save billions."Please promise me this" "Of course",he said."Anything" "Now darling",Serena said and laid him down to bed."Sleep and dream. Tommorrow there will be many changes".He closed his eyes and was soon passed out.Kissing him on his forehead,she walked to the balcony and swiftly jumped holding her luggage.Landing on the ground,she walked into the forest and stopped in the middle for something had suddenly struck her! "How am I getting on the moon?",she said aloud and once again she heard it.*The necklace*,it said and she brought it out."Now what?!" As she held to light of the moon a bright light formed in front of her. It then stretched into a hugh hole.A portal."Am I supposed to go in that?"
