Chapter Five Serena stared back at Hanol in surprise. Wasn't it less than a minute ago, Hanol was talking to her like...? Like a friend? What was this now? What happened? "Why are you doing this?" Serena cried out. Hanol smiled evilly at her. "Because, I want to rule the world. I want to be its queen! I have wanted it for so long! And you, little miss princess, won't stop me. I'll kill you first." Serena's eyes went wide. "Why?" "WHAT?" Hanol screamed in anger. "Why?" Serena asked meekly. "Why do this? Why earth? Didn't you say you were the ruler of your own Galaxy? Why another?" Hanol was shocked. How could she be so intelligent?  Hanol looked weary. She turned her back so Serena couldn't see her face. "Because... I am my Galaxy." "What?" "I rule myself. I have nothing else. No friends, no family, no one to even look up to. I was born alone. I did my own thing, lived my own way. Then I saw earth. How beautiful it was! How much I wanted it! I thought if I could rule it, I would have friends, and family, and someone who would look up to me. Then I saw you, from my crystal pool. Always so joyful and happy, why couldn't I have that? I envied you. I wanted all that you had. And to do that, I would have to kill you. Then the Sailor scouts got in my way, but not any longer. Soon I will be the only ruler here, Princess." Hanol turned to face her. She was smiling and her eyes full of hate. Serena was so confused. One minute Hanol's nice and seems lonely. But after that she turns bad. WHY? WHY WAS SHE LIKE THAT? Hanol then turned and started to walk away. "Where are you going?" Serena asked. Hanol stopped and turned her head. "To see if your prince came." And she disappeared. Serena was alone. Darien and the scouts were at Raye's temple. He had zoned out on the scouts conversation. Didn't pay any attention. He was to busy thinking about Serena. How she risked her own life for others... AGAIN! She never but herself first at anything.... well.... except when it came to food. Darien smiled softly at the thought. He suddenly felt a soft feeling wash over him. He thought he felt Serena touch his cheek. He touched his cheek where he felt the sensation. He saw all the scouts stop talking and do the same thing. "Did you..." "Just..." "Feel..." "That?" They all looked at each other. It felt like Serena. What was going on? "Where....how?" They all sat in silence. Raye faintly heard voices. They were discussing something. Then she heard a cry of pain. Suddenly an image of Hanol appeared in front of them. IT came out of nowhere. They saw Serena lying on a plat form behind her. "Listen to me. I have your princess. She will die unless in the next twenty-four hours you come to the park with the amulet. If you give the amulet to me, I'll let her go, if not..." she made a slicing sound and drew her finger across her throat, "...The girl dies. I'll be waiting." Then she disappeared. "Serena!" but they were gone. "We have to go." Darien said. All the scouts turned to him. "But Darien... It's a trap!" "I know that. Serena always risks her life for everyone. Now it's our turn. We have to do this. I couldn't live with myself if she died." The scouts stared at him. He was right. They had to go no matter what. "Let's go!" cried Mina. They transformed and took off to the park. While running Darien silently told himself that this was the right thing to do. Hold on Serena, he thought, just hold on.
