She hid herself in her room.  Ever since she had come home earlier, she locked
herself in her room, ignoring everyone else in the family.  She buried her face into her
pillow, letting her tears fall.
She hated being alone.  Ami died first.  Sweet and gentle Ami, so intelligent and
friendly, was taken first.  She sobbed her heart out when Ami could not fight against the
evil that stole her away.  Then Makoto.  Mako-chan, strong yet practical, was always a true
friend.  She had learned to rely on her over the years.  Her heart broke again when
Mako-chan lost all her strength to fight.  Then Minako.  Bubbly and ditzy Minako was always
there to cheer her up when things were not going well.  And lastly, Rei.  Rei, her best
friend.  Rei had stared into her eyes, trying to give her hope.  But how could she hope,
when all her friends were dead, taken by Galaxia?
Usagi cried again.  How she missed them!  How she missed those times when the five
of them did nothing but silly notions.  How she missed Ami's fact for the day, Makoto's
tasty cupcakes, Minako's idolistic pursuits, and Rei's stubbornness.  But no matter how much
she missed them, it could not compare to how much she missed her Mamo-chan.
Three months have passed since she saw her Mamo-chan board the plane to Harvard
University.  Since then, she had received only one letter from him.  She still remembered
the feeling.  She was so excited, so loved.  The letter was short, but sweet.  Just being
able to see his handwriting made her feel warm all over.
But after that letter, Mamo-chan never wrote her again.  It seemed like he just
totally disappeared.  She didn't mind at first, she told herself.  Mamo-chan was busy with
school.  Medical school is a lot harder than high school.  He must be spending most of his
waking hours studying.  She told herself to be patient.  Mamo-chan will be home soon enough.
Never in the world has she ever felt this lonely.  Galaxia was too powerful.  She
stole all her friends' star seeds, and now they are gone forever.  And the Starlights, they
were surrounded with the sorrow caused by Princess Kakyuu's disappearance.  What hope is
left?
She lay on her bed, crying, until she felt a small presence next to her.  She turned
her head, and saw Chibi Chibi smiling at her.
"What is it, Chibi Chibi?" Usagi asked, wiping her tears.
Chibi Chibi stared back at her, grinning widely.  "Chibi Chibi!" she cooed.  In
midst of nowhere, a pink flower appeared in her hands.  She held it out towards Usagi.
Usagi forced herself to smile at the two-year-old who came into her life from
nowhere.  "Thank you, Chibi.  The flower is beautiful, but it still does not compare to my
friends and my Mamo-chan."
"Mamo-chan?" Chibi Chibi said.  After a minute, she pulled Usagi's hand, tugging her
to follow her.
Usagi thought that Chibi Chibi just wanted to show her something, so she tried to
pull her hand away.  "Chibi, it's okay.  I want to stay in my room."
Chibi Chibi took her hand once again.  "Mamo-chan!"  She repeated, with more
confidence.
Usagi stared at the small girl.  "Mamo-chan?  What about Mamo-chan?"
Chibi Chibi then led her out of the house.
Usagi let herself be pulled by the little girl.  She looked around as they walked.
She saw the bakery, where she and the girls had pigged out in the past on delicious cakes.
Next to the bakery was the café, where Unazaki worked.  They always ended up hanging out
there after playing games at the Crown Arcade where Motoki-kun worked.  Then she saw the
little French café where Mamo-chan had taken her to on several of her dates.  She wiped her
tears when she passed by the café.
They ended up in the rose garden.  Mamo-chan's rose garden.  Where they had so many
picnics, just the two of them.  Where they had shared so many kisses and hugs.  Usagi wanted
to run away, but Chibi Chibi pulled her hand to make her stay.
"Mamo-chan!"   Chibi Chibi exclaimed.
Usagi knelt down next to the girl, tears spilling from her eyes again.  "Chibi
Chibi, why did you bring me here?  It hurts me to come here, especially when Mamo-chan...."
She could not continue, sobbing painfully.
  "Usako."
She turned her head, not believing what she had just heard.  "Mamo-chan?" she
whispered.
"Usako, I love you."
She ran toward the voice, but found nothing.  "Mamo-chan?" her voice strained.
"Mamo-chan?  Where are you?"
"Usako..."
Usagi fell down to the ground, sobbing.  "It's all not real!  What hope is there
left?  Mamo-chan!  I wish you were here!  I'm so lonely!  I miss you so much!"
Suddenly, Usagi saw a pool of light in midst of the ground.  Chibi Chibi stood in
the middle, her hands folded against her chest, her head bowed as if she were praying.  Then
suddenly, a bright light shot out from her, the light so bright that Usagi had to cover her
eyes.
When the light weakened some, Usagi uncovered her eyes.  Where Chibi Chibi was stood
a tall elegant woman, dressed in a sailor outfit with a snowy white cape.  In her hand is a
tall staff, on whose top a silver crystal rests.   Her silvery hair was tied into odangos
like her own, and her eyes were as clear blue as the sky.
"Who...are you?" Usagi asked.
The lady smiled, extending her hand out toward Usagi.  "When the universe is covered
with darkness, only a light of hope can save the whole universe.  I am that light of hope.
And I am you, Sailor Moon."
Usagi stepped back.  "You are me?  How is that?"
"I am Sailor Cosmos, the ultimate form of Sailor Moon, you.  But unlike you, I am a
coward.  I ran away from all my responsibilities of protecting the universe of all evil, and
I let Chaos run free to take away all the star seeds.  I lost my best friends to Chaos, and
then I lost my one and only beloved, Endymion.  The pain was so unbearable, just like what
you are experiencing now.  I couldn't face my destiny.  I didn't want to.  I was so wallowed
up in my sorrow; I became a shameful coward.
"I traveled back in time so I can get some encouragement from my past self.  Instead
of being myself, I was transformed to a little girl, who you called Chibi Chibi.  I
witnessed with my own eyes the courage of Eternal Sailor Moon as you battled Galaxia and her
Animates.  And even though you lost your friends and your most beloved, you still have so
much courage within you.  And you have given me so much encouragement.
"Thank you, Sailor Moon, for being so strong.  And now, I want to encourage you, to
bring out all your bravery, save your friends.  If you can destroy Chaos, you can save all
the sailor senshi of the universe, and your friends, and your Mamo-chan."
Usagi grabbed Cosmos' hand.  "You mean, I can still save my friends?"  Her voice was
hopeful.
Sailor Cosmos nodded.  "Listen to your friends' voices.  Can you hear them calling
out to you?"
Usagi closed her eyes.  The wind blew against her face, and she heard them.
"Usagi-chan!  Save us!"
"Usagi-chan!  I know you can do it!"
"Come on girl!  We're counting on you!"
"Usagi-chan!  You're our very last hope!"
"Usako!  No matter what happens, I'll always love you, and I'll always be at your
side!"
Usagi opened her eyes.  "Mamo-chan!  Rei!  Mako-chan!  Ami-chan!  Mina-chan!
They're calling out to me!  They need me to save them!"
"Sailor Moon!  Please!  Save me from this darkness!"
Usagi looked at Cosmos.  "Who was that?"
Cosmos sighed.  "That was Galaxia."
"Galaxia?  But isn't she evil?"
Cosmos shook her head.  "No.  Galaxia is one of us, as you know.  She is one of the
more powerful senshi, but unfortunately, Chaos took over her body and made her evil.  But in
her heart is still a ray of hope, that the true light of hope will save her and the
universe.  Her only hope is you, Sailor Moon."
Usagi's face glistened with tears.  She gently wiped the trail of tears.  Then she
stood up and faced Sailor Cosmos.  "And what of you?  Won't you fight with me?"
Sailor Cosmos lifted her head toward the moon.  "I need to return to my home and
fight, now that I have the courage to fight for all that I love.  My people need me, my
friends need me, and my Mamo-chan needs me too.  Your heart is big, Sailor Moon.  Listen to
your heart.  Let your love be your weapon."
Cosmos raised her staff in the air.  "Thank you, Sailor Moon.  I know you can do
it."  A light shone again, and then she was gone.
Usagi lifted her head to the moon.  She thought she saw Sailor Cosmos' encouraging
smile.  Then she turned around, hand on her brooch.
"I need to fight.  My people need me, my friends need me, and my Mamo-chan needs me
too.  Thank you, Chibi Chibi.  Thank you, Sailor Cosmos."
Then she yelled, "MOON ETERNAL POWER!  MAKE-UP!"

Usagi lay next to her husband, watching him sleep peacefully.  His hair fell over
his eyes, and she wanted to brush it back for him.  His tanned skin glistened in the
moonlight.  His long dark lashes rested silently where they fell.  Usagi thought her
Mamo-chan was the most beautiful man to ever walk on earth.  She turned to her back as she
reminisced over the events after the battle.
The battle with Chaos was finally over.  Galaxia was freed from Chaos' presence.
The star seeds were released, and all the Sailor senshi returned back to their respective
homes.  Princess Kakyuu returned to her Starlights, and they returned to their planet as
well.  Seiya seemed to be very in love with his princess.  And then all her friends, the
Inner and the Outer senshi, appeared in front of her.  Her heart was filled with so much joy
when she saw them.
And then there he was, standing a distance from all of them, his blue eyes twinkling
with happiness.  Her eyes watered, and the next thing she knew, she was sprinting towards
him.  She could not hear herself sob until his arms were wrapped around her.
"Usako.... it's okay now...you saved us all...." Mamo-chan cooed as he held her
against him.
Usagi held onto him, not letting him go.  "Mamo-chan!  Don't ever leave me!  Hold me
tighter!"
Mamo-chan pulled her closer to him.  Then he lifted her chin so that she could see
his eyes, and whispered,  "Will you marry me, Usako?"
And now the newly married couple lay together in their apartment after the wedding.
Usagi never felt more at home than ever, now that she finally became Mrs. Chiba, Mamoru's
Mrs. Chiba.  After hours of loving, they finally rested in each other's arms.
Usagi glanced at the clock by the bed.  She pondered for a moment, then she decided.
She leaned over Mamoru and kissed him gently on the lips.  He slowly pulled her closer to
him as he opened his eyes.
"I love you, Usako, my one and only."
