| Title: What If... Author: Lisa Chapter: 1 Rating: G Author's Notes: Hi minna! I'm back, and here's chapter 1. Boy, I sure had a lot of reviews for the prologue, so I'm hoping this chapter will be just as successful in getting reviews. Uh, I accidentally used Rini instead of Chibi-Usa for the prologue, so from this chapter on, I will use Chibi-Usa. Sorry fro any confusion concerning that. Well, I'm sorry, but chapter 6 of Roses chapter 3 of Against All Odds will be delayed for a few days so I will have enough time to write this story, which I know most of you were waiting for. Okay, I'll stop my babbling now. Enjoy! ^_~ Disclaimers: Sailor Moon and the others don't belong to me, but this story does. **************** Serenity turned around and peeked into the bushes. "No sign of her...that is weird..." She mumbled out loud. "Endy, could she be an adversary of some sort? Will she pose as a threat to us?" Serenity looked worried. "Perhaps Mother should know about this." A thoughtful expression crossed her face. Endymion chuckled, embracing Serenity. "Oh Sere, don't ever change." Serenity faced him, a blush staining her cheeks, making them look flushed. "Oh Endy..." Endymion gently brushed his lips against Serenity's forehead. "I will see you tomorrow. Goodbye Sere." Endymion walked away, but not after taking a few glances at Serenity. "Tomorrow my love." Was Serenity's reply. She looked towards Endymion's departing figure. Serenity walked amongst the garden, sighing heavily. "Oh Endymion...you will see..someday we will be married, and we will see each other freely." She looked up, and saw a faint glimmer of the blue-green planet her love inhabited. "If only..." Serenity always despised the fact that she had to see Endymion secretly. Why, if her mother ever found out... Serenity knew what events will occur. She hoped the senshi won't tell. She was never fond of the idea that her friends knew of these secret meetings she has been having. "Mother...gomen nasai disobeying your ruling. But I have to..." Serenity walked slowly to her bed chambers, and changing into her silk nightgown, preceded to let sleep claim her for the night. But...it seems the fates disagreed. "Mother...psst...Mother...I need to talk to you." A pink haired girl slid out from under the bed, scaring the life right out of Serenity. Since it was dark, and the light was not on, Serenity thought it was an enemy. "Iie!!!" A thump was heard as Serenity fainted. Chibi-Usa looked around innocently. "Uh...it was not me..." She said quietly, eyeing Serenity who was sprawled on the ground. (AN: Hey, I tried my best to make it funny...) *Two Hours Later* Serenity moaned, rubbing her head. "Where am I?" She asked, dazed. She took a minute to adjust to her surroundings. "What happened?" She inquired out loud. Then she saw Chibi-Usa "Chibi-Usa So it was not just my imagination!" Serenity exclaimed excitedly, her eyes shining with excitement. "Mama, what is not? It is me, Chibi-Usa. Your daughter. Was not you and Father expecting me?" "Nani?" Serenity replied, still dazed...or it seemed like. "You are...my daughter? How can that be so...and with who?" "Uh, Mother...I visited you before, do not you remember?"Chibi-Usa asked innocently, her large red eyes blinking curiously. "Chibi-Usa, I think I would remember if a pink haired girl visited me before." Serenity said dryly, eyeing Chibi-Usa suspiciously. "Are you the enemy?" "Nani? Mother, it is me Mother!"Chibi-Usa all but screamed. Then she gasped. "You do not remember me?" "I have never met you. Ever. Now if you do not mind, I need my sleep. We will discuss this tomorrow, when Endymion comes." Saying that, her eyes held a dreamy look to them. "I just can not wait. Endy is just so..." "You really do love him Mama....right?"Chibi-Usa interrupted before Serenity could add anymore details. "Hai, I do. Now get some sleep." Serenity lied down on the soft bed, yawning very un-princess like. She turned over on her side, forgetting Chibi-Usa never existed. Chibi-Usa stood beside the bed, looked dejected. "Mama? Mama..." She gently nudged Serenity. "Oh Endy, stop it...Endymion..." Serenity murmured, a smile on her soft lips. The sound of crickets chirped outside as Chibi-Usa shifted her weight to her other foot, tapping impatiently. This is, until she could not take it anymore. "Mother!" She screamed loudly. "Ahhh!" Serenity jumped up straight in bed, perspiration glistening on her forehead. "Where am I going to sleep?" She asked in a whining tone. "Alright, come on." Serenity patted the bed for her to get on. Chibi-Usa got on, and tucked herself in. "Now this is better!" She replied happily. "Goodnight Mama." Without another word, Chibi-Usa fell asleep. "Oh Chibi-Usa...you are just so cute when your are asleep." Serenity commented, pushing away locks of pink hair from Chibi-Usa's eyes. "Could you really be my daughter?" *In The Middle Of The Night* "Ouch!"Chibi-Usa squealed after being pushed off the bed by Serenity. "That hurt!" But even with all that noise, the sleepy Serenity did not wake up. "Mmmm...need sleep...need it now..." She murmured, not having a care in the world. The next morning, Serenity got up early, stretching out lazily and yawning tiredly. "Morning Chibi-Usa." She said, and turned over to face her...only to find her not there. "Chibi-Usa?" She asked. "Hai?" She heard a tiny voice call out. "I am down here." Serenity looked over the side of the bed. "And what may I ask are you doing under there?" she asked, a little annoyed. "Well, Mama, you made me fall off the bed..." Chibi-Usa answered sincerely. "But that is okay Mother. Do you remember me? Does Father remember me?" "Chibi-Usa, I have been meaning to ask you. Who is your father?" "Well, his name is.." Chibi-Usa scratched her head, deep in thought. "I think his name is...Endymion." Serenity's eyes went wide. "Endymion? Are you positively sure about that?" She inquired excitedly. "Hai, I am." "Wonderful. That means Endymion and I will be together after all..." Serenity hurriedly got dressed, and rummaged around her old clothes chest trying to find clothing a suitable size for Chibi-Usa. With luck, Serenity found her old dress. "Here Chibi-Usa, put this on." She handed it to her. "Arigato Mama." Was the vivacious reply from the energetic five-year-old. Serenity and Chibi-Usa walked together, hand-in-hand down the flights of stairs since Chibi-Usa insisted that she could not go down alone. "Mama, after breakfast, can we talk?" Chibi-Usa asked, looking up at Serenity. An unconscious smile formed on Serenity lips. Oh, to her it felt good to have someone call her mama. She remembered when she was young, she called Queen Serenity mama, but now...who would have thought that a pink haired girl would call her mama? "Sure Chibi-Usa. But just one problem. My mother does not know of you, and she would think strange of me to bring a complete stranger into our kingdom, let alone a child without the accompaniment of her parents." Serenity exhaled a long breath of air, deep in thought. At last, an idea came to her. "Chibi-Usa, pretend that you are my...uh...friend's cousin alright?" "Nani? Why Mother?" "Well, as I have told you, my mother would get a bad impression of me, and your parents." Serenity replied, not looking at Chibi-Usa. "Alright Mother." Chibi-Usa answered slowly, a little sad that she could not be just herself. They walked over to the royal dining hall silently. Queen Serenity turned around to greet her daughter. "Serenity, you are here at last." Then she noticed Chibi-Usa standing beside Serenity, and could not help but notice the similarities between the two. "Any who is this?" The Queen inquired, smiling brightly for Chibi-Usa. "Grandma! Wow!" Chibi-Usa ran over to the Queen, and jumped into her arms, hugging her tightly. Queen Serenity stared at Chibi-Usa, a blank look foreshadowing her face. She managed a smile, and hugged the girl back. "Uh...perhaps you have mistaken me for another." Queen Serenity said after breaking the embrace. Chibi-Usa pouted. "I guess you do not know me, but I am your granddaughter Neo-Princess Serenity, or Chibi-Usa as my parents calls me." Serenity paled instantly, about ready to faint yet again. She managed a dry laugh. "Mother, I wonder where she got that from..." She shot Chibi-Usa ‘the look.' "Hai, well, Serenity, why do not you and Chibi-Usa go and have fun?" She indicated for them to leave. Serenity bowed. "Yes Mother." She walked out quickly, Chibi-Usa following short. Once outside, Serenity could not hold it in anymore. "Chibi-Usa, why? I mean, you could have gotten us both in deep trouble!" Chibi-Usa gave her innocent look, and batted her eyelashes. "Mother, I could not help it." Was her reply. Frustrated, Serenity stamped her feet. "Fine. Let us wait for the arrival of Endymion, then we shall discuss it." She sat down with a sigh on a nearby bench. "But while we wait, tell me more about yourself, and why you claim to be my daughter." "I...I just know that you are my mother. Before I came here, my real mother just said that you need to train as hard as you can, and sent me here. I never knew you was not expecting me." "I see Chibi-Usa. And just what was your real mother thinking...wait a minute." Serenity paused for a minute. "I thought you said I was your mother." "Well, technically, you are, but not really my real birth mother. I am from the future." "Nani?" **************** *sighs heavily* So...how was it? Okay, I know it wasn't my best, but at least I wrote it! Sorry for this chapter's shortness, the next one will be longer, I promise. I hope you've enjoyed this chapter, and that you are not confused that I changed Rini to Chibi-Usa. Why I changed it? Because I am using Japanese names for this fic, so the Japanese name for Rini is Chibi-Usa. Anyway, my next chapter along with Roses chapter 6 and Against All Odds chapter 3 will be out in about a week or so, or maybe even sooner. And please do send me comments.
