| I have read and heard from some Pagans who say that Witchcraft and Wicca (or Wicce, as I prefer it) are not the same. I have yet to find the difference though. I guess it depends on your personal definitions of the two. Some may say that Witchcraft deals with more of the magickal workings of the Craft, whereas Wicce is the the religious aspect of it. I am still confused about that, so in this home, Witchcraft and Wicce are the same, and I will use them interchangably. I am Wiccan, and I am a Witch. |

| The core belief within the Craft is what's called 'The Wiccan Rede'. "An ye harm none, do what ye will". This basically means, live your life however you chose, just as long as you don't hurt anyone (including yourself) while living it. |

| Wicce is an Earth-based religion. We see life and magick in all that is around us, from the air we breathe, to the stones, rocks, and crystals that our Mother Earth has created. We believe in the Goddess, as our Great Mother, and in the God, as our Great Father. |
| Some traditions only acknowledge the God, but honour the Goddess, but many traditions honour both. I am an eclectic Solitary Witch, and I have chosen to honour both, as it just makes more sense to me. Everything needs a male and a female "part" in order to reproduce. This includes plants, animals, as well as humans. So honouring both the Goddess and the God as our Great Mother and Father, just makes sense to me. This is only my opinion, and by no means am I trying to hold "higher ground" than those who believe differently. The Witch's symbol is the five-pointed star (or the pentacle/pentagram). Many other faiths have associated this symbol as the "sign of the devil" or whatnot. This is a false belief. The pentacle has many meanings. One of them is shown in the picture above. Many Witch's also consider the pentacle to be symbol of women. |
