MISSION STATEMENT
The Reina Press is an independent publishing venture established for the purpose of printing the as-yet-undiscovered work of Iowa City's writers. Creative goals include an emphasis on scope and variety, increased readership and appreciation of local writers and local writing culture, and consistency in publication. As a publication venture, The Reina Press differentiates itself from a "zine" because each volume will stand on its own as individually authored and there is no correlation of purpose or opinion implied amongst the various authors. Quite simply, the goal is to release one such book on the first of each month, whatever it might be. |
