Appearances tell more than words in a situation when people are not quite friendly with each other.
So in other words, having a scary looking face gives you a harder time when trying to work out new relationships.
But we have to think about the situation more logically.
It's not that person's fault that he or she has an intimidating face, right?
It could be due to an old habit or just because he/she doesn't realize how fearsome they appear to be.
To be more specific, personally, I don't actually try to look mean or cross but people around me usually tell me,
"You know, when I first saw you, you looked so scary that I thought that I'd never get the chance to talk to you."
It's not fair to judge someone by his/her appearance and what is worse is to judge someone by their facial expression.
It's really quite sad actually when you think about it.
People being so afraid by your facial expression, which isn't even intentional, that they can't even come close to you.
Some people might actually be wanting to express their intimidation and I'm not saying that such facial expressions are admirable but you should really try to look deeper into the person because there might be the chance of finding something totally different that never hit you before.
