-Moral Fiber-

There¡¯s this guy who got accepted to Georgetown.
He¡¯s getting ready to make the scholarship speech when he meets this beautiful girl of his dreams.
The craziest thing he has ever done in his life was ¡®trying¡¯ to skip class, which eventually didn¡¯t work out.
So what does this guy, who practically has everything made out for him choose to do?
He chooses the girl.
He goes to the one person that he cares about the most, willing to sacrifice everything for her, putting her in front of everything else, his speech, his scholarship, his everything.
Probably not the wisest choice, right?
But we can¡¯t really say that for sure.
What we can say for certain is that he had moral fiber, the inner strength to do what he believed to be right in difficult situations.
We make numerous decisions in life. Sometimes we ask others for advice, sometimes we make the decision ourselves.
But what you should always remember is that whatever choice you make, it eventually influences YOUR life, not the life of others.
We are still young and we have so many years ahead of us. And whenever we are making choices, we can¡¯t always seek advice from others. We have to learn how to become independent and strong for ourselves.
So, do what you think is right. Listen to what your heart is trying to tell you.
Even if your decision is just out of the ordinary, if you believe it¡¯s the right choice, then that is the way you should go.
To quote something that a teacher once told me,
Einstein did not attend school properly.
Einstein got Ds in Physics.
Einstein failed in his college entrance examination.
Whoa~ if we add all these factors, what does it make him?
Yes, a total loser who couldn¡¯t accomplish anything. A complete failure.
But what does Einstein stand for these days?
He is the standard model of a genius!
How did he become such a brain wiz if he couldn¡¯t do anything properly, according to normal standards?
He believed in himself. He did things that he thought was worthwhile.
Maybe he didn¡¯t think going to school was cut out for him.
Even thought he doesn¡¯t have a college degree, he is still one of the most famous human beings in human history for intelligence.
I am not here to enlighten you, or to tell you what is right or wrong.
When we are making decisions, there can be no standard for which is the right one or not.
It depends on the person¡¯s beliefs.
So don¡¯t depend on others, worrying what the others will say.
Life is too short and you can¡¯t waste your time thinking about whether your choice is fit out to be the perfect example. You are the only one who knows what you truly wish for.
Moral Fiber is what moves us all.
It gives us the courage to make choices.
It helps us understand what we truly wish for.
It tells us the direction of our lives.
So, have faith in yourself.
Trust that feeling in your guts that tells you that it¡¯s the right choice.
It¡¯s your life; you are the one making the choices.
So trust yourself on every decision you make.
That¡¯s what moral fiber is all about.
Finding that one thing you care about more than anything and going after it with all your heart.
And I¡¯m sure some of you will be familiar with this saying from a particular movie, a very important saying to remember when you¡¯re considering moral fiber,
¡°If you know that the juice is worth the squeeze,
just go with it.¡±
Thank you for listening.
