So, you are sitting at your desk, daydreaming, "Where will I go on my vacation?" Jay Toberman has answered this question with some of the most educational, enlightening, and inventive adventures you can imagine.

While many 'adventurers' devote all their time and money to touring the world, sometimes selling everything they own and setting out for parts unknown, Jay gives his readers another, more down-to-earth, option.

Through careful planning and the luck of finding a good travel-mate, the regular working person can make their 3-day weekends or 2-week vacations into memories they can treasure for the rest of their lives.

Some of Jay's stories are humourous. A couple of times I felt anxious about the stories' outcome. But, more than anything, I was struck by Jay's love of nature, this land and the world as a whole. When Jay tells how he hitchhiked across Canada I could feel his sadness; he could not recommend this kind of travel anymore for personal safety reasons. Jay is perceptive and engaging when dealing with fellow travelers he meets along the way.

Don't Quit Your Day Job is chock-full of information, ideas, and invaluable first-hand information for the would-be adventurer in all of us.
