Everyone, it is said, has a Guardian Angel! Sharon Quinn is struggling with the day to day ups and downs of being a single woman, newly widowed and parent of two normally reacting boys. As she copes and rises above each day's new challenges, little does she know she is about to receive a very special visitor.
Jogging early one morning in an effort to shake off oppressive feelings, Sharon meets Joe Reardon. That is, she literally runs him over! Nothing in her life will be the same from this day forward. Joe begins to provide a comforting role model relationship with one of Sharon's sons, guides her to get the job she needs, and seems to always be there when a need arises.
The reader will wait for her to "fall" to the overwhelming attraction she feels for this newly arrived, handsome stranger. However, will she given in to those feelings, since she is only widowed two months now? Will her children be the key to linking Sharon and Joe forever? Furthermore, will Joe be able to fulfill his "mission" without losing his "special" powers and status? Will he stay or go?
Normally, I am not particularly drawn to romance stories as I usually find them predictable and lose interest. However, I could not put this novel down and read it in two sittings, one of which extended into the early hours of the morning, and for which I paid in pleasant fatigue the next day. This is a very talented writer who holds the reader's interest totally! Her fleshing out of these ordinary characters' personalities quickly reaches the point where the reader becomes part of the character's lives - each of them - rooting for them and agonizing over the spins, twists, and turns their story takes.
I highly recommend this wonderful story to everyone who clicks on this link. Her novel is a tribute to her own statement, "Writing makes me feel complete...Good things do happen to those who don't know how to give up."
Congratulations, Bonnie Drury, on a splendid read!
