Stone Barrington is finally getting married. He and Dolce Bianci, along with her father, sister and brother in law, are headed to Venice for both a civil and religious wedding.
After the civil ceremony is performed, Stone gets news of his former lover's husband. One of Hollywood's biggest actors, Vance Calder, has been murdered and Arrington is the prime suspect. While Stone looks for clues to clear Arrington, he's forced to consider his feelings for her and Dolce. Which lady will claim the affections of the well known attorney?
Once again, Stuart Woods drops his favorite attorney in the middle of a murder mystery. This time, Stone's objectivity is compromised because of his past relationship with Arrington. But that doesn't stop him from trying to find out who really killed the high profile actor. In the meantime he also has to deal with Dolce, and that can hamper his investigation. Half the time, Arrington doesn't take her precarious situation seriously, and that makes things harder for Stone.
The characters in LA Dead are well defined, and keep the plot moving. The story slows down occasionally, to give the reader a breather, only to take off running again. Stone's best friend, Dino, returns and once again, is watching Stone's back.
Stuart Woods continues with the edge of your seat action he's become known for. Stone Barrington will get you hooked, if you aren't already, and have you looking for his past adventures.
