The Sith lord, Darth Sidious has made plans with Naimoidian members of the Trade Federation to place blockade the planet of Naboo. The Naimoidian viceroy decides he can make some quick money by selling the information on a holocron. Sidious sends out his only student, Darth Maul, to find the treacherous official and regain the holocron. Anyone knowing of the information contained in the red cube will die; there can be no one left alive to abort the dark lord's plans.

What should be a simple assignment, grows into something more insidious and ends up involving the Jedi. Darsha Assant unexpectedly ends up aiding an information broker and his droid, after her own mission fails. When they think they've found safety, they discover the situation has only become more complicated, with a relentless hunter after them, who has a strong command of the Force. Will they be able to get free of the Dark Lord?

The story of Darth Maul takes readers back to a time just prior to the story of The Phantom Menace. The plot focuses on the dark lord, how he came to be, and his strong connection with the dark side of the Force. The action is nonstop and riveting. Character backgrounds are detailed and intertwining while they try to stay ahead of the Menace.

This is another "edge of your seat" tale, jam packed with action and intrigue. Michael Reaves does a great job creating the background for a character you'll love to hate. You won't want to miss the latest edition to the Star Wars saga.
