Beth had been asked to have a business dinner with the colleague of her associate. She didn't mind extending the professional courtesy, until the guest made it clear he wanted to have more than a business discussion with her. The limosine driver steps in to rescue Beth from a bad situation, but she feels like the good looking chauffeur may be just as dangerous as the plastic surgeon.

Tyler Stone doesn't appreciate seeing a woman forced into a situation when she's made her feelings quite clear. After he dumps the annoying idiot, Troy insists on taking Beth safely to her door. Something is drawing him to her and he's willing to see where it goes, while Beth tries to nip any attraction before it can take root. Her failed marriage stands in the way of possible happiness, while Tyler has someone else in his life to consider. Can they find a way to give their mutual attraction a chance to grow, or will past experience interfere?

Using the legendary phoenix bird as her theme, Cindy Hiday offers a story of a young woman trying to start over. Her past has destroyed her self confidence and she's unwilling to let any man get close again. On the other hand, at age seventeen,Tyler made a decision which dramatically changed his life, and he has no regrets. While neither one has had an easy life, both have learned from the past, but they're still missing something.

The main characters' insecurities are well defined and believable, allowing change to inevitably take place. Beth's career has an unusual but interesting aspect, and it plays a role in her self confidence. Secondary characters are supportive and have their own subplots. The story moves along smoothly as problems are solved. Even the frequent rainy weather can't dampen this plot.

Rise above it all and follow Her Phoenix Heart to a second chance at romance.
