Two newborns have disappeared over the Labor Day weekend and Jeremy Buckman, top investigator in the prosecuter's office, is assigned to the case. There are no clues to connect the kidnappings.

During the same weekend, his wife, Tricia, has left him, unable to deal with the three miscarriages she's been through. Jeremy gets a call concerning a Jane Doe brought into the emergency room. The description fits his wife. Tricia has just experienced a Nightmare Run and it's caused her mind to shut down. She doesn't recognize Jeremy or recall anything that happened. Jeremy doesn't want to believe she might be involved in the kidnapping case.

The couple have a long way to go to save their marriage. Will Jeremy get his wife back and prove her innocence?

Kidnapped newborns is not a subject generally accepted for fiction, but Christine Janssen handles it very carefully. While the newborns are the basis for the story, she concentrates on the relationship between Jeremy and Tricia. These two people have a serious problem to deal, and come to terms with.

Secondary characters add a variety of emotion and subplots. Country life is aptly described and fits very well into the story. You feel Jeremy's frustration at the lack of clues and his inability to help Tricia regain her memory. Solving other problems along the way, help to discover the final answers to the crime in question.

Nightmare Run may not be for everyone, but suspense fans will find the story satisfying.
