The American Revolution is over, and Indians and whites are living in peace - for the most part. Jane Sibley continues to run the tavern despite her husband's recent murder. For years, her daughter, eighteen year old Shawndee has been forced to tuck up her long hair and disguise herself as a boy. 'Andrew' is no more liked than his parents.

Several Indians have been showing up at the tavern's back door to enjoy the firewater sold there. Their drunkenness is changing their behavior and Chief Shadow Hawk intends to do something about it. He kidnaps the tavern owner's son with every intention of trading the boy for a promise not to sell any more alcohol to the Indians. He's not so surprised to discover 'Andrew' is really Shawndee. But he is disgusted to realize the young girl hasn't been allowed a normal childhood. Can situations be changed and problems solved?

Cassie Edwards continues her Savage series, concentrating this story on the Seneca tribe. At this time, Indians were still able to live in fairly close proximity to white settlements. Charges of witchcraft still exist, and Indians are discovering the bad things about white civilization.

Savage Honor is a well written tale, dealing with two distinct cultures, but showing once again, how the best of both can be brought together. The characters deal with problems brought about by lingering superstition, and secondary characters enhance pivotal situations.

Ms Edwards current release brings a stronger awareness to readers just how many Indian tribes existed in this country. You'll enjoy a sense of history and an entertaining romance.
