A globe trotting bodyguard and pediatric nurse...What could they possibly have in common? Seven years earlier, Kira North and Alec Frechette, had something important in common--something which also tore them apart. Now, while Kira is working closely with her young oncology patients, Alec has built a reputation as more than just a bodyguard for beautiful, wealthy women.
With the Rideau Rapist still on the loose, Kira is quick to react to the intruder in her home, only to discover Alec has returned, and wants to see if her self defense skills are as sharp as ever. She learns his new job as bodyguard to the Governor General's granddaughter will keep Alec close to home...too close for comfort.
When another woman is murdered, Alec becomes the prime suspect. Kira has to face some facts and make some choices. Will she believe Alec and help him find the truth? Can they come to terms with the past?
Hold on to your hats, folks, this is one story you won't be able to leave mid way. Erin Fox has written a marvelous, character driven plot, which will engage your emotions and not let go until the very end of the novel.
She delves into the lives of her characters, creating believable backgrounds for every one of them. You can't avoid getting involved with them, especially Kira and Alec. Ms Fox gradually brings out the events in their past, stripping away the protective layers, until they're forced to face their pain. At the same time, they find themselves embroiled in the hunt for the Rideau Rapist.
Secondary characters aren't always what they seem and provide strong support throughout the story. When you least expect it, Ms Fox adds an occasional zinger into the dialogue to momentarily ease the tension in this page turner.
Do wishes come true? You'll have to read Starlight, Starbright to find out. Believe me, you won't be disappointed.
