When Anna Bentley inherits an old Victorian home on a beach in Mendocino, California from a stranger she is startled, yet intrigued, by her good fortune. Warned that the previous owner, Captain James Adam Duncan, haunts the mansion, Anna moves in with trepidation. Her dreams are filled with the almost tangible presence of Duncan. While exploring the mansion Anna finds an antique spyglass. Looking through the spyglass to the ocean she begins to feel faint. Thunder and the salty taste of sea spray signal that something very strange has just happened. Anna finds herself standing on a ship in the middle of a storm at sea! Whisked back to 1880 and onto the schooner Ceilidh, Anna feels she must be dreaming except that the feel of Duncan’s arms is all too real.

James Duncan is the devilishly handsome man who looks as if he has just walked out of the portraits she has seen hanging in her new home. Duncan is bewildered how this woman, who has been featured prominently in his dreams at night, came to be standing on his ship. How did she get here and how will he explain her presence and purpose to the members of his crew?

As Anna and James begin their romance across time the readers are drawn into the mystery and passion with each turn of the page. As these two characters aid each other in their life’s quests, we understand why their bond is so strong. Christine Poe will capture the heart of romance and time travel readers alike with Whisper of a Tryst.
