Declan Harper wants to marry the richest gal in town, Vanessa Arrington. His plans have nothing to do with love, but are a means of gaining certain revenge on her father. He goes to Matilda Candy's home, to get a love potion. Miss Candy certainly isn't the same Candy woman he recalls from his childhood. He won't admit Matilda fascinates him, but he's not about to let her interfere in his plans. He may even make her a part of them.

Matilda Candy is the local witch. Although people won't admit it to anyone else, some occasionally show up on her doorstep for potions. The twins from the neighboring farm, Hanson and Gretchen, are her most frequent visitors, despite the fact they sneak around the Candy house. They tend to tell wild stories, and snatch a few of the sweets Matilda makes every week to sell in town. She doesn't approve of the love potion Declan asks for, but puts one together anyway. She and Declan test the potion with some interesting results, so why doesn't it work on Vanessa?

Into The Woods is a fun twist on the Hansel and Gretel fairy tale. The twins come up with their own agenda. They want Matilda to marry their father, which means finding a way to get rid of their step mother. Keeping Matilda from getting involved with another man creates more problems for them. These two little connivers cause more trouble than they solve, setting up the story's plot. How do they get rid of their step mother and Declan Harper?

Linda Jones continues to turn fairy tales into amusing romances. Get Into The Woods and lose yourself in a fun reading experience.
