"Always wind. Wyoming's curse." Dark thoughts swirl like the Wyoming wind through Tricia Treager's poisoned mind as she paces her motel room in Rawlings, Wyoming, trying to drown her demons in ice cream and pie and plotting revenge against recently released convict, Daniel Chase-Meyers, the unwitting heir to Tricia's late father's fortune. Anyone who has ever been to Wyoming will agree the wind blows incessantly and in this romantic suspense novel, there are winds of change and brewing storms for virtually every character. Tricia's ugly past, detailed in a prologue in which she murders her father, is the catalyst for a plunge into the vortex of darkness and evil blowing throughout this novel of murder, secrets and vengeance.

In Cheyenne, artist Jeremi Kruger has just fired her assistant at her Red Feather Framing and Art Shop. His absence is felt immediately as she tries to unload a heavy shipment of cartons , a struggle noticed by Daniel Chase-Meyers when he gets off the bus he's ridden from Rawlings. The only destination in his mind is a new life, far away from his past and the time he spent in prison. Jeremi's shop offers him a haven from which to assess his options, which include a reluctant return to his life of privilege as the grandson of one of the wealthiest entrepreneurs in the Pacific Northwest.

Emma Kennedy draws on her background as a native of Wyoming and as an artist in this romantic suspense novel, set primarily in Cheyenne, Wyoming. An intricate plot laced with hit and run accidents, malfunctioning hot water heaters, fires and break-ins provides plenty of action as Jeremi and Daniel realize they are being targeted by deranged stalker. As the bond and attraction between them deepens, Jeremi is convinced Daniel's time in prison for the shooting death of his wife was a frame-up and her love for him grows despite her overprotective family's initial resistance and her stubbornness to succeed on her own terms.

Woven throughout the novel is Tricia Treager's deepening madness, as she attempts to kill Daniel, and eliminate anyone who gets in the way of her obsession. Unaware of who the real enemy is, Daniel and Jeremi struggle to keep her business going and their love for one another on track despite an escalating series of "accidents", each one more dangerous than the last.

This complex story of family dynamics runs the gamut from normal sibling rivalry to the darkest and ugliest of secrets. The romance is sensual, the violence can be graphic and the story moves along like a gusty Wyoming wind, swirling up dust devils of danger and plot twists in every chapter.A DARK WYOMING WIND will grab your attention like a tornado warning.
