FRIDAY, May 27th A. 6:00-7:30 pm - BASIC TANGO (all levels) For students with little experience or none at all. Good for anyone who wishes to review walking, posture etc. SATURDAY, May 28th B. 10:40 - 12:10 pm - CLOSE EMBRACE FOR BEGINNERS (all levels) Previous class recommended if no Tango experience. Taking away the mystery of close embrace. Improving or learning to dance close. LUNCHBREAK - 12:10-1:00 pm C. 1:00-2:30 pm - MARIA'S SECRETS JUST FOR FOLLOWERS (all levels) (Men who wish to follow are welcome) Adornments and techniques to add elegance and sensuality to your legs and moves. You don't want to miss this one. Come and have fun. D. 2:40 - 4:10 pm - HOW TO DANCE ON A CROWDED FLOOR and TANGO BEYOND EUGENE (all levels) Some easy-to-follow combinations of steps while dancing in place. Famliarize yourself with World Tango etiquette, which will help you dance in other cities. What's polite and what isn't - directly from the source. E. 4:20 - 5:50 pm - IMPROVE YOUR TURNS (GIROS) IN CLOSE EMBRACE (Intermediate-Adanced) Learn ways to keep your balance, make it flow. Techniques for lead and follow and some fun combinations with sacadas. F. 6:00-7:00 pm - CHAT WITH THE MASTERS (all levels) Become informed about the dance you love so much. what more reliable source than peole who brought tango to the international community when there was none? SUNDAY, May 29th G. 9-10:30 am - SO MANY STEPS I CAN'T REMEMBER (advanced beginners-intermediate) Do you find yourself leraning combinations of steps that you don't know how to apply to songs or how to string them together? This is designed for you. We'll put them together for you, for the length of a 3 minute song, which you can apply to other songs. H. 10:40-12:10 pm - FUNDAMENTALS OF MILONGA ( some experience necessary) Understanding rythym and tempo. We'll study basic combinations. LUNCH BREAK - 12:10-1:00 pm I?. 1:00-2:30 PM - POLISHING YOUR MOVES (intermediate - advanced) Emphasis on improving followers and leads in close embrace. Jerky moves are distracting to your connection. What can you do to improve it? What makes our masters move so precisely and elegantly on the dance floor. We'll study Cadena (chain) moves. J. 2:40-4:10pm - MUSICALITY AND COMPARATIVE TEMPOS (intermediate - advanced) How can the same steps be used to tango, waltz, and milonga? We'll also study how specific orchestras affect the dynamics of your movements. A must to increase the sophistication in the dance. |
