5/1/00 Mayday Monday Mayhem

The winds of change are blowing. This week looks to be one of transition.

Transition from clean-up to construction.
I finally got all of the stuff out of what the kids are calling "The Smokey House". 3am Monday morning, I finally went through the last pile of sooty stuff to see if was worthy of salvage, or truly trash....at 3am, with no electricity—everything looks like rubish. So the destruction/construction begins in earnest today. A transition that is billed as a "3-month job".

Pharmacuetical transitions-
Tommorow, 5pm. I have an appointment with Monica and her Doctor; regarding the alarming rate that she takes her narcotic pain pills. Monica is worried that she is going to be "cut-off" by her doc. Though it would be hell, I kinda hope she is cut-off completely. It's really obvious when she runs out of her meds: her mood changes dramatically, she get's cold and she sleeps alot. The day after our house burnt (4/7), she got 90 pills - a one month supply - two weeks later on (4/22) she got another one month supply - those are now gone... and she has developed a "severe bachache" last night, she went to the E.R. for a shot of Demerol, and a bottle of muscle relaxers. Tommorrow at 5:00 it hits the fan - things could get ugly - stay tuned.
