9/19/00 Weekend at Kenny's

I can't say that the weekend was good.
On Friday, I managed to get my car towed home, but I didn't get a chance to diagnose the problem, or even attempt to work on it.

Saturday was a complete bust — Monica never really ventured out of bed; I think she was only awake for about 4 hours. I attempted to keep the kids entertained, which wasn't too difficult, since Monica had granted the kids a building permit... permission to construct a fort in our backyard. By the end of the day, there was the skeleton of a 12'X8'X4' shack outside my back door, built entirely out of "found materials" being held together with drywall screws pounded in with my claw hammer.

Monica stayed in bed on Sunday as well.
But the construction came to a halt, when the boys decided to dump a can of Dr. Pepper on a nest of angry Yellow Jackets in my compost heap. Net result? One stung kid (Brad; neighborhood bully, stung on the chin.), and enough scrap lumber to build a 1,000 sq.ft. fort.

I did get my motorscooter running, and hit the streets for the first time this year. I never ventured far, but took it every chance I could.

Thankfully, Rick's homecoming on Monday was smooth, I really needed a "good encounter" at work. In 3 weeks, Rick hits the road again - a few weeks in Italy.

Can you believe it? I haven't watched a single minute of the Olympics! It seems that the TV is perpetually stuck on Nickelodeon, CourtTV or Lifetime, and I am perpetually on K.P. duty.
