MERRY CHRISTMAS! The plan was to wake up by 7am and get started early so that by the time the Roney clan arrived at our house for breakfast all the gifts would be opened and breakfast would be started. I heard the alarm ring at 6:55 and turned it off... Brian woke up and said to me, "Do you want to wake up Andrew?" I said, "No." Then I rolled over and looked at the clock which said 7:55. I jumped out of bed and said, "YES! Wake him up!" We went downstairs and Andrew was still sort of "groggy" but when he went in the room where all the gifts were he just stood in amazement and said, "Whoa!" (Santa must have thought he was a good boy this year...) He went over to the tree and we told him that all the gifts under the tree were for him. He picked up one and opened it and then another. He did MUCH better than I thought he would do. He was very patient opening his gifts and enjoyed the "moment" much more than we ever thought he would. Of course, if he opened something and it was clothes, he kind of tossed it to the side and went on to the next box. Among the favorites were...the doctor set, the remote control Hummer from his great-grandpop, the drumset from Aunt Christine...yes, a drumset.., the sit and spin from Uncle Ken Ken, the remote control backhoe from Mimi and Pop and his new tools! I have to say that this had to have been the best Christmas ever! We not only had a wonderfully beautiful White Christmas that we have all been dreaming of for so many years, but God brought Brian and I the best gift ever...ANDREW! We love our role as parents! It was a very exciting day, and I will be posting pictures here as soon as we have them up and running on the computer. Should be by this weekend, so keep checking! We hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas as all of us did! Looking forward to the New Year! |
