Where I live
there are rainbows
and
I can drive through a rainbow,
reach out
and touch the hand of God.
Where I live
there are flowers
and
I can smell their fragrance
and inhale the scent of God.
Where I live
there are tradewinds
and
I can stand in the breeze
and feel the breath of God.
Where I live
the ocean surrounds us
and
I can rest knowing
God's arms are around us.
Where I live
there are beautiful sunsets
and
I know God has put closure
to one day,
a time to rest in His love.
Where I live
there are starry blue moon nights
and
I know God is watching
safely over us
in the soft lights of His love.
Where I live
there are islands
and
I know no man is an island,
we coexist with brothers and sisters
of differing ethnicities.
Where I live
transgressions
of our ancestors are history
and
I know God forgives and forgets,
we can know and love each other
as God intends.
Where I live
there's a diversity of cultures
and
I know that God has a sense of humor
and I can laugh with you.
Where I live
is the Aloha spirit,
God's love and God's blessings
be with you.
Where I live
is a paradise on earth
and
I know this is my home,
Hawaii, the island of O'ahu.
