Candle/Wick/Rainbow an Analogy

The candle is nothing 
without the wick.
A candle alone 
can not burn.
The wick alone 
can not stand.
They need each other 
for their light to shine.
So it is with humans, 
we need each other
for our lights 
to shine brightly.

Like the many colors 
of the rainbow,
we as humans have 
our differing natures,
our differing views, 
and our differing cultures.
How wonderful it is 
when we can merge 
our differing worlds 
and become united 
encouraging each other.

Like the candle and the wick, 
supporting and encouraging 
each other so our lights 
will shine and be as brilliant 
as any colorful rainbow.
A rare find when we have 
someone in our life that is 
an encouragement such as this.

It is not meant 
for our lights not to shine.
It is not meant 
for our gifts to lay dormant.
It is not meant 
for man / woman to be alone.
It is meant 
for us to encourage each other
so our gifts will flourish, 
and life be sustained.
