I have an actual live journal account now, so all journal updates will be on that site. The Seventh Symbol Live Journal

I have an avatar! I feel special. It's from Prisoner of Azkaban in 15 Minutes. I read that part and it just cracked me up so I knew I had to get the avatar of it when it was made. Besides, I wouldn't mind making out with Sirius or Lupin. In their Marauder years of course. Definitely not at the age they are now, and 'specially not the actors who portray them *coughgaymoustagecough* Man, I'm acting like they're real people. Gotta stop reading fanfiction. Speaking of, Caroline, finish your fan fiction! Anywho, back to the avatar, I feel more like a live journal now. Woot!

Okay, I know it's late, but I have a valid reason!!! Me and my dad were watching The Fifth Element (for probably the 10th time... Crazy Gary Oldman! lol, Caroline.) There's this scene where this alien woman is singing opera or something and her range (although computerized) is incredible. It reminded my dad of this singer he heard back when he was like 16. I told him if he still knew the name I could find this person online. He still did, Yma Sumac, so I went online to find her. There was this specific song that showed her entire range but he couldn't remember the name of the song. After much searching on amazon.com, vh1.com, etc... we found that it was the song Forest Creatures, but it didn't give enough of a clip to hear the really high notes. And then I found, again after much searching, a website that gave enough of the song to hear her go from her lowest note to her highest note. The woman has a 5 octave range! That's incredible! That site also had some songs showing really high notes and really low notes, except only one or two other people actually had the range of Yma. This one woman hits a B3 flawlessly for about 5 seconds, it's insane. And they have a clip of the highest recorded note, which is of course from Mariah Carey. So yeah, check out the site, its really cool. (http://www.dutchdivas.net/frames/highC.html) And see, isn't music always a valid reason to stay up late? :-) Oh, and btw, if you haven't seen The Fifth Element, go rent it. It's got Bilbo (Ian Holm) and Sirius (Gary Oldman) in it. LOTR and HP combined. That rocks. Speaking of LOTR... I was watching I Love The 90s, and Dom Monaghan was dancing the MC Hammer dance. That was so amusing! I love that guy... Oh, and backing up a bit, speaking of HP... Tuesday night, a bunch of us went over to Helayna's and we were watching Love Actually. Well, in the movie, Emma Thompson and Alan Rickman play a married couple. In HP they play Trelawny and Snape. During this scene where they were about to get into bed I leaned over to Leah and said, "Dude, it's Snape and Trelawny!" Leah burst out laughing at the thought, which caused me to burst out laughing, which caused everyone else to look at us like we were insane. I managed to point to the screen and choke out, "It's... it's Snape and Trelawny... together!" Yeah, they didn't think it was that funny. I'm such a dork...

Wow. I haven't updated in almost a month. That's crazy. Course, I have an excuse for last week, I wasn't home. Vacation time! That was fun. Nagshead is so much better than most of the other beaches I've been too. There's no crowd. It's nice. And... at this kite store we went to there was this really cute guy that worked there and he had an Australian accent! That totally rocks. Went to Helayna's yesterday, saw her "flat." I wish I had a flat... Her little brother and sister figured out how to open the locked door, so we had to constantly make them leave. But oh well. And, uh, can't really think of anything else I want to write about at the moment, so I shall be going!

11:01 pm

School's been out for only two days and already I'm incredibly bored. How sad is that? I went to see The Terminal today, which was good, but I came home around 5:00 pm and had absolutely nothing to do. There's no games on the computer I want to play anymore, and I'm thinking about renting an Xbox game. It's Thief: Deadly Shadows, and they gave it a good review on TechTV (I gotta stop watching that channel...) so I think I might give it a go. But hey, if anyone wants to do something, I probably won't be doing anything, so give me a call. Must end the boredom!

2:31 pm

In my extreme boredom, I'm gonna write stuff. Okay... Well, yesterday me, Caroline, and Leah went to see Harry Potter again. I wanna be in a Harry Potter movie! Right, cuz I can act... and like to act... hahaha. It would still be cool to be in it as like an extra or something. Caroline wants to try out for it. She's got this incredibly long resume and she wrote a really professional letter to the casting people. And she's gonna send a video of herself doing different accents. I really hope they consider her, even if they don't want Americans to play roles. It would be like, her big break, which would be awesome. Anyways, after the movie, Leah had to leave, so while we were waiting for my mom to pick us up, me and Caroline went to Hot Topic to look at nifty clothes I can't afford. They had a bunch of cool Harry Potter shirts that I wanted. The best one was one that said "Muggle" on the front. Woot! They also had the various gamer clothing, which I want. I 'specially liked this one that had bunch of mushrooms from Super Mario Brothers and says "Know Your Mushrooms." Another woot! I didn't go to sleep til like 1:00 last night, which is probably why I got up really late today... But, on Jay Leno they had a bunch of really cute animals and I wanted to see them! They had a baby wolf!!! I want a wolf... And they had a baby fox, which was really hyper and was eating broccoli... Oh, and they also had a lynx. I have come to the conclusion that my cat Hunter is part lynx, cuz lynxes' headbutt to say hello, and so does Hunter. So yeah. And while I was flipping around after Jay Leno, I saw a commerical for Stomp, which is coming to the Carpenter Center this weekend! Oh man, I wish I had known sooner so I could have begged my parents to get tickets. Cuz even if tickets are still available now, my mom says it's too expensive. Oh well, maybe they'll come again next year. I hope so. Wow, this was actually pretty long. Guess that's what happens when I'm bored, huh?

7:33 pm

Oh man, I'm gonna miss my 1st period band class soooo much! Where else will the entire class randomly break out into song? I shall explain. I had my Latin exam today, so Helayna was helping me study. Most of the guys were playing cards in a big group and Nathan was off to the side doing homework or something. All of the sudden, I hear someone start to sing, "Silent night, holy night..." and the rest of the guys in the group started singing as well. Nathan came in a little later, like an octave higher than the rest of the guys, and they all tried, and failed, to hit the song's high notes. It totally made my day. I don't know of any other class I have where the guys would just start singing like that. Mr. Stegner was looking out of his office with a kinda confused stare. It was great. Tomorrow's my last day in that class. Sadness.

OMG, today was sooooo much fun!!! Me, Caroline, Helayna, Josh, and his friend Taylor went to see Harry Potter. It was soooo much better than the last two. They could act. And it was funny. The new director rocks. Then we went back to my house on the promise of there being Halo, but of course my brother had to take the Xbox and Playstation to his friend's house, so no playing for us. I'm really starting to hate Murphy's Law. I gave Josh my sword Sting to look at and he was totally freaking out Caroline with it, just cuz she doesn't like swords and other sharp pointy objects. Then we went online and Josh and Taylor (who kept calling me, Caroline, and Helayna: "Rachel," "Carolyn," and "Fig.") were showing us all these hilarious videos like "Yatta Yatta" which is gonna be stuck in my head for the rest of my life. Taylor was taking pictures of us cuz his phone can take pictures and there was a picture of me choking Josh as Caroline pulled his hair, me and Caroline in a "sexy" pose with Josh, random pictures of Helayna, who had her soul taken away many a times today, ones of Josh doing weird dance moves, one of Caroline shimmying, and one of me and Taylor and Caroline and Taylor. We walked Caroline home, then me, Taylor, and Helayna sat on Josh's trunk as he drove me back to my house. Taylor fell off once, he wasn't hurt, so it was really funny. Then they took Helayna home. We so have to do that again. Fun times. Yeah, right now I'm listening to the Harry Potter soundtrack and trying to figure out how to play the amazingly beautiful flute part. I'm totally buying the soundtrack, right now I'm just listening to this AOL Listening Party thing so I don't actually have the music. It's not downloadable or anything. Grrrness. There are some pretty cool horn parts too. "GO HORNS!" Lol, Josh. But yeah, the song from the Knight Bus is all cool and jazzy, and our Jazz Band should totally play that, and they shall have flutes cuz even though there are no flutes in that song, I wanna be in Jazz Band!!! Okay, time to figure out the rest of the song, I only have 5 measures figured out.

2:47 pm

Know what the best song ever is? The version of "Holding Out For a Hero" in the movie Short Circuit. I'm jamming to that right now. Just thought I'd let you know. Woot!

2:41 pm

Hello all. I'm at Laura's. We're reading the Aeneid. Or rather, she's reading and I'm laughing at the funny transations. And waiting to type. Wootness. We've been rhyming a lot. It's fun. Ooh, and I think I'm seeing Harry Potter on Saturday, if Josh gets the tickets. I have to make sure Caroline can go at the time the tickets are for, because she'll be at her brother's skating competition earlier that day. This is the first time I've been excited about a Harry Potter movie. They can act in this movie this time. And it's the best book. I need to read that again. I met a opossum. I got a postcard. Okay, only Caroline and Josh and whoever else watches Teen Girl Squad will get that. I'm gonna go now. C-ya!

This amused me greatly. It's a mad lib type thing I did online. Here ya go:
Once upon a time there has a young CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATOR named JOSH. He was STUPIDLY THINKING in the JOLLY forest when he met CRAZY PATRICK, a run-away ACTOR from the WEIRD Queen KELSEY.
JOSH could see that CRAZY PATRICK was hungry so he reached into his BOX and give him his MENIACAL RIBS. CRAZY PATRICK was thankful for JOSH's RIBS, so he told JOSH a very DISGUSTING story about Queen KELSEY's daughter CAROLINE. How her mother, the WEIRD Queen KELSEY kept her locked away in a SYSCRAPER protected by a gigantic COUGAR, because CAROLINE was so DERANGED.
JOSH LOOKED. He vowed to CRAZY PATRICK the ACTOR that he would save the DERANGED CAROLINE. He would SIT the COUGAR, and take CAROLINE far away from her evil mother, the WEIRD Queen KELSEY, and JUMP her.
Then, all of the sudden, there was a HAPPY HURRICANE and CRAZY PATRICK the ACTOR began to laugh. With a puff of smoke he turned into the gigantic COUGAR from his story. WEIRD Queen KELSEY WALKED out from behind a CHAIR and struck JOSH dead. In the far off SKYSCRAPER you could hear a MOO.
Mwahaha, it's pure brilliance. My favorite part is when Josh vows to jump Caroline. Hehehe.

I'm updating. Can you believe it? Albeit, it is a rant about an unimportant subject that's important to me. Go figure... Anywho, my brother, oh, way back in March, got Final Fantasy X-2 for his birthday. I just got around to playing it this past Saturday. And I can't frickin' get past the Magnus Sisters. Granted, I should have cast Protect, Shell, and Reflect before my hit points were in the 200s range for all my characters, but still. I was getting so far. This is like the Seymour fiasco all over again. Damn the hard characters. They're so... hard... Yes, go large vocabulary skillz. Yes, with a 'z.' Okay, on to happiness. The AP Bio kids all got chicks about a week ago, and after the English SOL I went with Jackie to see hers. They're all sooooo cute. I want to steal my brothers. Speaking of, he still hasn't named his yet. We were out at Lone Star Sunday night because it was my dad's birthday and we were trying to figure out a name for it. We were suggesting things like "dinner" and "A1 Steaksauce" and "Ribs." My bro suggested "What all the chicks wanted but couldn't have," which I thought was hilarious, but that's definately too long of a name. Unless he shortened it to "WATCWBCH," but that's just stupid and still to long. So far, he's just calling it "Hey, you." Not to get a year ahead of myself, but I'm thinking of naming mine Rikku or Hievin Glavin. (Yeah, you'd have to watch The Simpsons to get the last one, that was actually a suggestion for the name of my bro's chick.) I think Rikku's good. I'm a gamer dork. Oh well, gamers rock. I shall leave with a quote from Chef Brian: "Ever wonder why new socks taste so fresh? There's a lot more to it than you might think. It all starts with a large block of cheese. Just like everything starts with cheese. Then the chainsaw. You don't really need a chainsaw... but it's more fun that way. Of course... if the Jello get's moldy, the whole thing should be set aflame... And that's why you should never make assumptions... because you make an ass out of you and... mumptions..." Ponder that for a while. Make sure you brain doesn't explode.

I know no one really reads this, but I feel obligated to update since I haven't since, like, forever. Well... For the past two days I've been working set construction for the school's play Anything Goes. I never realized just how much work goes into making a set. Especially this one, because the set is massive. The platforms are seven feet tall so Brent won't have to duck when he goes under them, and they made the set come out of the stage so it's almost to the first row of chairs. The play is set on a boat so the part coming out is the bow of the ship or something. It's cool. It's totally not done, but it's cool. I worked on one of the wagons, which are not actually wagons, but just platforms on wheels. There were two of them and they had to be painted in a art deco style. It's black, white, silver, and blue. I can't wait to see the finished set. So let's see, what else? Ummm, I've gotten Caroline obsessed with Final Fantasy, much to the delight of herself, Natalie, and Josh. And I talked to Caroline's friend Mike from NY online last night and found out that his baseball jersey number is 47. Grrrr, don't get me started. I've told Caroline she must never speak that number again. Especially when the time is something:47. So that goes for everyone else. No more blatently saying 47 for no reason, or telling me the time when it hits 47. Okay, enough talking about that subject. I just saw the new trailer for Spider Man 2. Holy crap, that looks good. I can't wait to see it. Wootness. Okay, I think that's it for now.

7:31 pm

I'm procrastinating doing my homework, so I've decided to write a journal entry. I saw Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Great movie. Go see it. I didn't realize that the title is actually from a poem by Alexander Pope. We just learned about him in English. I love when things connect like that.

How happy is
the blameless Vestal's lot!
The world forgetting,
by the world forgot.
Eternal sunshine
of the spotless mind!
Each pray'r accepted,
and each wish resign'd.

Anyways, today we went to Applebees for my brother's birthday. I was taking a shower to get ready and my idiot cat Hunter decides to bang open the bathroom door and stroll right in. I didn't realize it but then I heard this incredibly loud screaching that made me almost slip and kill myself in the shower. That cat couldn't figure out to come back the way he came and was sitting in front of the other bathroom door crying and that's what the weird screaching was. Grrrr. Then after we got home, I finally got to play Everquest. That's a great game. I played with Josh so I would actually know what the hell I was doing. To bad it's only free 'til April 15th. I might actually pay for some more time if I really get into it. And I probably will. Okay, I should probably go now. I already spent enough time memorizing the above poem thing. Don't really know why. I'll forget by tomorrow. Whatever. Maybe I won't. You never know...

I've come to the conclusion that I really do want to go to Prom. But I've also come to the conclusion that that's probably not gonna happen. First off, I can't drive, so even if I went by myself I still would have no way of getting there and I don't particularly want my parents to drive me there and back, you know? And since I'm an oldfashioned kinda girl, I wouldn't want to go alone anyways. So, you know, I could always ask one of my guy friends, oh one or two that I have, but I'd rather they go with someone they want to, which probably wouldn't be me. So I don't really see myself going to Prom this year... or even next year for that matter... unless I learn to drive... which probably won't happen unless someone literally throws me into the car and doesn't let me out 'til I drive. Nobody get any ideas now :-)

I have many things to say today! YAY! First of all, today rocked! The concert band went to Festival today at Powahtan High School. I swear, I think half the band wants to go to that school now. It's like a mall. It's crazy. Will and Josh were going up and down the stairs pretending it was an escalator. And Chris told Josh if you run by the urinals they all flush at the same time (they're automatic). It was great. And the band got straight ones!!! And Josh and Sam's solos were great! I'm really hyper right now btw. Anyways, after the concert, Helayna, Josh, and I went to Subway for dinner. I swear, I should never eat with those two. I couldn't stop laughing. Seriously, I wasn't even done my six inch sub after Josh polished off his 12 inch. Oh, and I found out I'm not the only one that's bad at ordering food. Halayna sucks at it too. WOOT! It was soooo funny! Now she's gonna kick me cuz she already did for telling her "Helayna, look at all the dead animals!" I dunno, I thought it was funny. Yuuummm, bacon! And ham! And other delicious animals! Wow, I'm such a carnivore. Anyways, we have now concluded that Josh and I are demented. How so? Well, I will tell you. Okay, so I threw a chip at Josh cuz he was being weird - as usual - and it fell on the ground (we were eating outside) and he ate it! I told him that tomorrow his parents are gonna try to wake him up for Symphonic Band Festival and they were gonna find him dead in his bed (ooh, that rhymed!) And he started getting all gross with the details of how they would find him and we both started cracking up and Helayna was looking at us like we were crazy and so Josh concluded that we must be demented and we needed help. I won't deny it, we do. Cuz yeah, like, I yell at the wind, and Josh is a werewolf, and Helayna can't pronounce "werewolf", and yeah, we're just all weird. Finally, when I got home, I got online and searched to see if I could find a video or audio clip of Billy Boyd singing on The Sharon Osbourne show yesterday. I FOUND IT! A video clip. I think I've listened to it 20 times since downloading it and I'm not exaggerating. That man has the most gorgeous voice ever. He really needs to make a cd. His voice is beautiful. Sigh. Hehehe. Yeah, okay, I think that's it for me now. Until whenever!

11:18 pm

I BEAT SEYMOUR!!! I squashed him like a bug under my shoe and wiped him off on the metaphorical rug that was his demise! MWAHAHA!!! For those of you who don't know, I am referring to a Final Fantasy X character that for the life of me I couldn't kill. But last night, I don't know what happened, but I was totally in the zone. And it was incredibly easy to kill him. I did it on the first try. I think it was 'cuz I poisoned him first. That probably helped a great deal. And I used a bunch of my Aeons. And he only used Full-Life on me once. That never happened before. He usually does it a lot of times. But I killed him, and that's all that matters. Now all I have to do is beat Lady Yunalesca so I can get this plane type thing so I can do all the different side quests I've been wanting to do. WOOT!!!

February 7, 2004

9:02 pm

I can whistle now. I don't know how that happened. It was like, one day I couldn't whistle, and then the next day I could. Weird. It's like how one day I couldn't do those 3D stereogram things, and then I just could. How very odd indeed. :-)

3:39 pm

Patrick Held is a god. Seriously. I went today to see VHSL, which is the Virginia High School League theater productions. This was the district contest, between James River, Clover Hill, and Monacan. We totally kicked butt. I have never ever seen highschoolers act as well as I saw James River act today. And I'm so not being biased because that's my school. James River put on the play The Lottery, directed by Mr. Held. Amazing. Completely amazing. I had to keep reminding myself that it was not real, it was just a play. Shannon did an incredible job playing Tessie Hutchison. People in the audience were crying. I was teary-eyed. And I don't get teary-eyed while watching plays. But, omg, that was soooo professional. It's so hard to do a dark piece when the actors are at a high school level, but they totally nailed it. I'm hopefully going in two weeks to see the Regional competition. If they act the way they acted today, they should win it. I think they should also win at the state competition. They're definitely good enough. They came in 6th in state last year. I wonder if there is a national level. That would be cool. During the time between the plays being performed and the judges coming out (it took them forever), the theater people were playing improv games, mostly this game called Freeze. Basically, two people would start acting out a scene and then someone watching it would yell "Freeze!" The actors would freeze in whatever position they're in and the person who yelled had to take the place of one of the people acting and start a new scene. It was hilarious. I'm gonna have to get Caroline to help me out to remember some of the things they all said so I can put it on my quotes page. Ah, randomness. Is there anything better?

February 5, 2004

9:28 pm

Caroline's friend Katie (the one from the quotes page) amuses me to no end. Read this conversation they had (taken from a note, and btw, when you read what Caroline says, she's just playing along...):
Katie: Is the country in the ocean New Zealand or Old Zealand?
Caroline: Old. But label it "Australia"
Katie: y?
Caroline: That's the more common name
Katie: Oh, okay, thanx.
Caroline: Np.
Katie: But wait, isn't Australia in Europe?
Caroline: Nooo.. that's Austria
Katie: Oh, okay, like Brazil?
Caroline: Not really. Brazil's in South America.
Katie: Oops, lolz...
Ooohhh, you gotta love that. I think that can contest with the ditziest moments Josh has heard. One of his friends asked him during class, "Josh? What was Clinton's last name?" I love blonde moments.

February 4, 2004

5:31 pm

I want a "gimme moment"... yeah, only Caroline's gonna be able to understand that...whatever...

February 3, 2004

10:25 pm

Computers are evil. I had this whole journal entry written that took me almost a half hour and then the stupid "back" button on my mouse was accidently clicked and it all got erased! Grrrrrrrrrrr! Now it's too late to try and redo it. I guess if I have time I'll do it tomorrow. Yeah...

January 29, 2004

10:58 pm

Grrrrr, school starts 2 hours late tomorrow. Should have no school. Evilness. Okay, I really want those colleges to stop emailing me. I don't really mind getting mail from them, it's just that, when I log on I see that I have 5 messages or so and I get really excited thinking someone's actually emailed me, but alas, they're just from colleges. Erlack.
On a different note, I had a really weird dream last night. I thought I'd share it cuz some of my friends are in it. See, the thing is, I actually had 3 dreams that night, all of them in the same place, but with different people. The first was with Josh and Helayna, the second with my mom, sister, and some lady I had never seen before (and I've forgotten what she looks like), and the last with my dad, Uncle Henry, and cousin Jared. Anyways, on to the dream:
1. Okay, so it starts out in this building that's I guess a restaurant/dance place. Me, Josh, and Helayna are sitting on a couch that's in the waiting area of the restaurant excect that part looks more like a living room or something. Off to the side, next to the couch, is an opening that goes into a smaller room that looks like another living room. In there is a piano that Robert (guy in my Latin and math class) is playing. He's playing on it one of the band songs that we played either my freshman or sophmore year, but I've forgotten what the song is. And it's weird cuz I can't see Robert, yet I know it's him. Trés spooky. Anyways, me, Helayna, and Josh start hitting each other with the cushions from the couch for no reason other than we're really bored and have nothing better to do. (At that point I think the band song had been drilled into my brain and driving me slowly insane, but that has nothing to do with the rest of the dream...) After a bit of hitting each other, Josh and Helayna gang up on me and start hitting me with the cushions. Now it' 2 against 1. Just then, an administrator from our school (not one of the actual ones, just one I conjured up) walks over and starts yelling at Josh and Helayna to stop. They stop, then she yells at Josh some more, telling him he can't go to some senior thingy that's like a big deal to all the seniors. After hearing this, he runs out the door heading toward his car and Helayna runs after him. Then all of the sudden, I'm sitting at one of the tables with a present and Helayna and Josh come back in, also with presents. (After going over this dream in my head when I woke up, at this point in, I'm thinking "Where the hell did that come from?"). We exchange presents, Helayna and me swapping ours, Josh giving us chocolate. It looked like the chocolate I got for Christmas, shaped like one of those nutcrackers. Anyways, for some reason, the gift that Helayna gave me had the name 'Jaime' on it, and it wasn't my friend Jaime, it was the Jaime I knew in middle school. This must have been because I was looking through my middle school yearbooks 2 nights ago. And, well, that's all I can remember about that one.
2. The next two definitely aren't as detailed. In this one, me, my mom, my sister, and some random unknown lady are in the room with the piano. I'm at the piano playing, or a least trying to play, a song. The others are discussing a book. I think it was a murder mystery or something, but I don't remember. I do remember that there were a lot of seashells everywhere. That's pretty much it.
3. Well, me, my dad, Uncle Henry, and Jared are at that table that me, Josh, and Helayna were exchanging gifts at. 'Cept Uncle Henry is standing over at the side. Jared is sitting there strumming on the guitar he just bought from me and we're all talking about something that I don't remember. Hah, this one was even less detailed.
Well, wasn't that interesting? Hehe. I probably should be going cuz school's tomorrow and I have a test (grrr). At least when I get to school I can read The Wastelands. Omg, that is such a good book. It's part of the Dark Tower series. Don't even get me started on that because I'll start rambling and this is already a really long entry. So I'll go now. Maybe I'll ramble tomorrow. Hahaha, naw, I'll spare everyone. G'night!

6:10 pm

Wow. No school again. But this time I have no idea why. The roads are clear. I guess the back roads aren't. Sweet. On another note, LOTR won for everything it was up for at the Golden Globes. Major awesomeness. And I have a recommendation for everyone. Go and read Stephen King's Dark Tower series. Oh my God, it's soooooooo good. I only got the first two in the series cuz I wasn't sure I was gonna like it and now I wanna get back to the library soooo badly to get the next ones. Anyways, go and read 'em. Woot.

January 23, 2004

9:44 pm

I finally went to the library today. I haven't been in ages. I was being book deprived. So I got three Stephen King books, one Anne Rice book, and one book that has to do with Merlin but I don't remember the guy's name who wrote it. Oh, and exams are finally over! And there's a four day weekend! And I get to go skiing for the first time on Monday! And it might snow Sunday night! Hah, if only that could be on Tuesday night. Get the whole week off. That would be sweet.

January 21, 2004

8:07 pm

Oh my God! My mom is sooooo awesome. She was out with my sister today and when she came back she had the Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack for me! Such addicting music! Wheeeee! Oooh, and Caroline burned me a copy of the Bend It Like Beckham soundtrack which has really cool Indian songs on it, and she also burned me a copy of a Charlotte Church cd. Man, that girl has an amazing voice! It's been, like, music fest for me today. Today rocks! Well, 'cept for the fact that other than this afternoon it was completely boring. Oh well. Hehehe! *Starts singing POTC songs*

January 19, 2204

6:48 pm

Okay, since Saturday, I've played Dark Cloud 2 for over 12 hours. I need help. :-) In other news, it's exam week. *groan* I think a big blizzard should come tonight and school could be cancelled for this week. And then the seniors wouldn't get the week off for themselves. And I would laugh. And all would be right in the world.

January 12, 2004

7:01 pm

Woot! I have finally finished my quote cards for English class. My wrist hurts really bad though, but at least typing is easier than writing. Oh, and I have a funny History class story... 'cept its not my class period. On Friday when it was snowing, the kids in Mr. Dommisse's 2nd period class were all crowded around the window. So Mr. Dommisse says, "Okay, everyone, take out your notes, we have to hurry, we only have about 20 minutes." Or something to that extent. Anyways, all the kids were like, "What? Why?" and he says that that everyone is going home early because of the snow. Well, the entire class is jumping up and down and are really excited about that and are even willing to start up on their notes, until one kid in the back goes, "Really?" and Mr. Dommisse just goes, "No." Poor kids. They were pretty mad at him. But it was funny. My class was laughing about it... and telling him we would of killed him if he did that to us. Man, that's a great class.

January 11, 2004

10:02 pm

Well, I finally have all my hours for Beta Club. Next time, I'll try to get them all before the semister is almost over. hehe. Wow, I honestly can't think of what to say... write. I had a pretty boring weekend. I did go over to Caroline's though. She wanted me to watch the beginning of Joan of Arcadia cuz they mentioned Orlando Bloom in a speedo. It was hilarious. I wonder if celebrities are amused when they get mentioned like that on tv shows. I would be. Then I showed her The Most Extreme Elimentation Challege. It was a great episode, cuz everyone was dressed inna costume. This one guy, dressed like a totem pole, had to cross this pond or whatever by jumping on rocks. Some sank, some didn't. Well, anyways, this guy landed on one of the sinking ones, and as he jumped into the air, he began to flap his little totem pole wings, then proceeded to fall in the water. I almost died laughing. Little flapping totem pole wings, brilliant. There was this other guy dressed like an olive. Yeah, he didn't even make it to the first rock. He just fell right in. Oh, besides watching some shows (and Bridget Jones's Diary again), Caroline told me about this idea she has for a British chick flick. It's great. I want to see this actually made into a film. Some of the lines she's come up with are hilarious too. Well, um, I guess I did find something to write about. Go me!

January 9, 2004

10:24 pm

ALERT!!! The SciFi channel is missing. And I missed the new episode of Stargate, a part 2 episode. SciFi is usually on channel 49. Now the Hallmark Channel is. If anyone knows where SciFi went, please tell me, cuz I'm dying to see this episode.
Okay, on to other things. It snowed today!!! Woot!!! Unfortunately, we didn't get off of school. Bah. Well, after band first period, a bunch of us went outside into the snow. I found out that the snow was the sticky kind. So Figment (Helayna) and I had a snowball fight. Then we each took a snowball inside. Josh's back was turned, so I threw my snowball at him and hit him in the back of the head. Then he turned around and Helayna hit him. I swear, I don't think I'm ever gonna grow out of picking on boys. It's so much fun. *Mischevious laugh*

January 8, 2004

4:50 pm

I counted how long the final bell was today. 25 seconds. That's waaaaay too long! I mean, you only need, like, 4 seconds, not even that, to tell you that school is over. And it does this every day! And it's not even a bell, its a tone. To the tune of F. And it sounds like a flute. Ish. Once at the end of band class, I played an F on my flute and everyone thought it was the bell and got up to leave. It was great. They don't fall for it anymore. Not really. Hehe. Just thought I'd mention that.

January 6, 2004

4:16 pm

You know, I was actually going to have a point to this posting but for the life of me I can't figure out what. I hate when that happens. It's evil. Know what? I really want it to blizzard. Less school. That would be sweet. Oooh, and I actually got a 42 outta 40 on my math quiz. I'm very happy. I don't normally do well in math. I wish that was a test though, it would be worth more. Hah, today in physics Mr. Couillard was trying to blow up a balloon but we kept making him laugh. He almost breathed it in. And then we played tug-of-war on rolly chairs to learn about friction and stuff. But most of the class we had a discussion on the universe. We need to have more of those. I like discussions on space. It's more interesting than other sciences. Probably because there's so many theories about it. And the fact that it would be so totally awesome if like, the show Stargate was actually real and I worked at the SGC. Aliens and other planets and oh it's so cool. *Starts having nifty day dreams* (nifty's a great word btw...)

January 2, 2004

10:36 pm

Okay. This is random. But whatever. I think I know what I'm gonna be for Halloween. Yeah, I know its awhile away. I had an epiphany. Yes, big word! Anyways, I think I'm gonna be an Ice Element. I'm gonna dye my hair white and put in light blue highlights (probably with a magic marker or something hehe). Then I'll have blue going from my eyes over to my hairline, but not between my eyes cuz I think that'll look stupid. I'll probably use eyeshadow or something for that. Then, I'll use my sparkly lipstick that makes my lips all icy-looking and, well, sparkly. I dunno what I'm gonna do for clothes yet. I'll think of something. Probably. Maybe. You know what sucks? I have an FCA for math that's due the day we get back. So not fair. I guess I'll do that sometime tomorrow. At least that'll only take me a half hour or so. Shouldn't take too long. It's just math. Okay, so, well, I'll guess I shall be seeing you all soon, winter break being almost over and such. Cya!

December 30, 2003

9:57 pm

Well, ahem, I haven't updated in quite some time. It's not my fault. I've been at Caroline's for the past 48 hours. Seriously. We had a sleep over two days in a row. Wow, and I think we spent most of the time ogling over Orlando Bloom. He's such a gorgeous man. But, man, I definitly have had my fix of him for awhile. I mean, I watched Pirates of the Caribbean, like, 4 times. Now, granted, one of those times was to listen to the commentary of Keira Knightly. That girl is hilarious. And she never stops talking. It's great. Anyways, yeah, I had my fix. And I actually went two days without playing Final Fantasy. That's amazing. That game is very addicting. Right now I'm at this place called Thunder Fields or something like that. I keep getting hit by lightning because I can never press 'X' in time. Tres fun. Oh yeah. I have these cool beasts called Aeons that the character Yuna can summon. Those are cool. And you get to name them. Mine are Ashrad, Zaya, and Foki. Haha, Foki, an ode to Helayna. By the way Helayna, I think I'm gonna steal your puppy. Even though I'm not really a big poodle fan. But any 8 week old puppy is cute, no matter what kind of dog it is. Well, signing off!

December 25, 2003

5:47 pm

I'm back! And I won on Mario Party 4. Which is really suprising, considering I was playing against my brother. Anyways, I got some really cool stuff for Christmas. As a present to both Josh and I, my parents got us a Playstation 2. Woot! My bro got the games Dark Shadow 2 (I think that's the name of it) and some racing game. I got Final Fantasy 10. "Final Fantasy number ten, must save the world again, right here from my own den!" Hah hah, I love that song, Legendary Frog is brilliant when it comes to flash movies. Go to his site, www.legendaryfrog.com. It's great. Anyways, I also got four CDs (Trapt, Vertical Horizon, Fuel, and Linkin Park), socks, gloves, lots of candy (Mmmmm, Rollos...), slippers, a giant Return of the King calendar, plus a Two Towers tear away calendar from Caroline (which is so totally awesome btw, 365 pictures from TTT, nice!), yummy bath gel from Shannon, a really funny quotes book from Laura, the most comfy-ist blanket I've ever felt in my entire life, various moneys from people, a necklace with a K on it from my brother-in-law's dad and step-mother, and chocolates and such from Helayna and Ginny. I love you guys. Thank you all for everything!!! (By the way, my brother just told me that the names of his games are Dark Cloud 2 and Gran Turismo 3.) Okay. Merry Christmas again. Bye!

4:41 pm

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! I was gonna write some stuff, but my nephew wants me to play Mario Party. Back soon!

December 24, 2003

6:40 pm

Merry Christmas Eve everyone! My sis and brother-in-law and niece and nephew came over around 4:00. My nephew Austin got a Game Cube from us. Right now, he and my brother Josh are playing Mario Kart on it. I'm waiting for my turn, since it also came with 4 classic Zelda games, and I miss my Zelda. I've only ever played the two from N64, and the one, Majora's Mask, I only rented. So that's the one I'm gonna play. Even though it's kinda hard considering it has a time limit. Gah, time limits suck. Oh well, it's not like it's my game, I'm only just playing it for tonight. Caitlin, my niece, is soooo cute! Everything she does is cute. I just thought I'd mention that. My sis has to translate the Caitlin-speak for me, because I usually can't understand a word she's saying. She's only almost 2. Anyways, I hope everyone has a great Christmas tomorrow! And Chanukah, and Kwanzaa, and any other holiday I've forgotten! Bye!

December 22, 2003

11:00 pm

Oh my God... I can't believe its over. *tears in eyes* Don't laugh. I really do have tears in my eyes. I saw Return of the King today. I went with Ginny and Helayna (me and Helayna gave up on Josh, who was supposed to go with us... we won't get into that...). That was a great movie! But now it's over. My three year obsession... gone.... Damn... Man, I need to see that movie again. They should have a Part Four. I don't care if Tolkien didn't have a fourth book, make a fourth movie! ("Don’t say... We have come now to the end") The scenes with Gimli and Legolas were great as usual (especially when Legolas does something with an oliphant, but I won't get into that for the people who haven't seen it yet.) and the hobbits were soooo cute as usual, even all dirtied up. Sam's monologues always have a way of getting me teary eyed. Great actor. 'Specially when you add the awesome uplifting music to it. The ending credits was cool, I want to get those pictures of the characters so I can draw them. That would be sweet. Well, I'm all depressed now that its all done. ("Why do you weep? What are these tears upon your face?") *sigh* Well, to end on a positive note, at least I have the Return of the King extended DVD to look forward to next year. YAY!

December 20, 2003

10:24 pm

One more thing. Bob Anderson is a genius. I just wanted to let you all know that. He's the swordmaster for both POTC and LOTR. Genius.

10:16 pm

Hell yeah! It's working now. I'm gonna watch some more interviews and such...

10:13 pm

Gahhh, it read my Lord of the Rings DVDs, why won't it read the Pirates DVD?

10:04 pm

We rented the Pirates of the Caribbean tonight, because my mom had never seen it. After we watched it, I took it upstairs to watch the bloopers and other behind the scenes stuff. Oh man, Orlando Bloom *faints* :-) Hahaha. Anyways, I'm still not done watching it, my bro took his room back. So, I'm trying to watch it on my computer, but the idiotic thing is not reading the CD. Bloody computer...

December 18, 2003

9:50 pm

Hah, I bought a slave. Lauren Appel. I'm such a hypocrit. Oh well :-) Don't worry I didn't make her do anything too bad. Not really. Helayna helped. She was kinda my co-owner. What a good little figment. hehe. And I won a dollar, so that was good. When I got home, my dad told me that Uncle Henry gave us a LOTR Trivial Pursuit game. That's so frickin cool. Me and Caroline are gonna play it tomorrow. Woot! Oh, and my cousin Jared is letting my dad borrow this book called Golden Buddha. I started reading it tonight. It's really good so far. And I'm only on the first chapter. And I'm really not sure what it's about. But I'm liking it. Oh, back to Saturnalia. There was a talent competition for the slaves. Galen came in 2nd place by stripping. That was interesting... Luckily, he had on 6 layers of clothing and kept the last layer on. Thank God. Heh heh. Kendall came in 1st place by rapping about Jesus to the tune of "I Like Big Butts" and then rappping "Shoop" by Salt N' Peppa. That was really cool actually. Well, I best be going. Bye!

3:12 pm

I swear, I'm gonna cry when I see Return of the King. On the Lord of the Rings website, they had two scenes from the movie. There was this one between Pippin and Gandalf. Oh, I love Billy Boyd so much! That scene was great. He's so adorable (for a 35 year old). He was like, "So I imagine this is just a... ceremonial position. I mean, they don't actually expect me to do any fighting... do they?" So cute. I need a hobbit hug. Heh heh. Hah, this is random, but my cat Hunter is trying to get at the catnip we stuck in the cat's stocking. Yes... our animals have stockings. *grin* Well, I should probably get my toga out from wherever it is. Saturnalia is tonight! I was gonna buy Lauren as my slave tonight, but then I realized that I'm waaaay too nice to make my slave do anything. Even to get me food. Damn me. Oh well, I'll make Helayna do it anyway. She's my figment. I own her. I don't feel bad about making her do anything. (I'm just kidding, my figmenty friend). Naamarie! (Haha, getting into the LOTR spirit!)

December 17, 2003

7:57 pm

Done! Oh, and I've decided to bring them tomorrow, so... Please don't break tomorrow, please don't break tomorrow, please don't break tomorrow... Hah, have I mentioned how much I love my brass people? Me and Helayna had to get our pictures taken for Latin Club. Now, when we left, our band class was just about to start a song that neither me nor Helayna liked. So, anyways, we got our picture taken, wrote our names down (We shoulda put "Master" and "Figment" but we didn't *sigh*) and then most of the people left. A few others, including me, had to stay for the National Latin Honor Society picture, and Helayna waited for me by the auditorium door. After the picture, we slooowly went back to band class, even stopping outside of the door to hear how far the class had gotten. Now, we were gone for about 20 some minutes. You would think they would be done the song by then. But no, they were still on the first page. Hahaha, I love those guys. It is a hard song though. I think i'm gonna bring my piccolo tomorrow and play the piccolo part in the song. I've been practicing it... ish. Hopefully my piccolo won't be evil and not work tomorrow. My mom says I sound too breathy on it. Bah. :-) Well, I'm gonna go now. Later!

7:04 pm

Woot! I'm almost done with my christmas food for my peoples on Friday. They're turning out pretty good. Now I just have to wrap them. Please don't break on Friday, please don't break on Friday, please don't break on Friday... *grin* Well, I'll be back when I finish wrapping them, bye byes!

December 16, 2003

6:22 pm

I choked on my drink at lunch again. It was Josh's fault. Again. I was minding my own business, prefectly content on drinking my juice (though it didn't taste very good), when Josh suddenly says, "Kelsey, don't laugh!" We all know the effects that statement has when you're drinking or eating. You choke. Luckily, I had already swallowed most of it, so it wasn't too bad. I guess he was just getting me back for putting glitter in his hair and making him think he had sparkly dandruff. You know, I think dandruff should be sparkly. At least then your embarrassing dandruff would look pretty. I should genetically engineer that. When I learn how to genetically engineer. Yes... Anyways, I have two tests tomorrow I should be studying for right now. History and Physics. Joy. I also need to get in touch with Caroline to see when we're going to see Return of the King. Hopefully tomorrow. Apparently, they're not gonna put some stuff in it that was in the book that I really wanted them to have. Stupid editing of book *grumble*. I really hope Sean Astin wins an award this year (next year, whatever) for best supporting actor. He's awesome. Well, I'm going to go call Caroline, hopefully we'll see it tomorrow, which will make my crappy test day into a good crappy test day, and then I'll be talking about it non-stop Thursday morning much to the delight (Hah!) of my first period friends. C-ya!

December 15, 2003

4:57 pm

Okay, so, first period was interesting today. We got a new song to play, which is basically like one giant solo for me, which I don't really mind if I play it well. High notes are evil. Then, me and Helayna informed Josh that we're gonna dye his hair green and red and silver on Friday. He's not exactly too thrilled with the idea, but too bad, he's gonna get his hair dyed even if we have to tie him to a band chair to do it. MWAHAHA!!! Changing the subject. In 3rd period we experimented with our Vortex Generators. Me and Jaime blew out the candle 5 outta 10 times, which is an 100! Yeah! And... the rest of the school day is pretty boring except that I got back my PSAT scores. 1340 baby! In the 95 percentile! Alex got in the 99 percentile. Damn frickin genius...
When I got home, Caroline came over and we watched Bridget Jones' Diary. Great movie. Nothing better than watching two British hotties fighting each other horribly to the tune of It's Raining Men. Pure Brilliance. Someday I'll make a list of all the foreign actors I like. That'll probably be a long list. And they're probably all from the U.K. I wish I had a British accent. Or could fake one... Sooo... Since I can't think of anything else to say at the moment, I shall go. Bye!

December 14, 2003

10:00 pm

I'm back. Yeah, I was going to talk about the nicknames. Okay.

Pretty Girl - Benjinette (She looks like Benji and she's female, so yeah.)
Sparkle - No nickname
Lisa - Shoutin' Lisa Trombone
Mr. Magoo - Chicken, Orange Chicken (If he's been in the clay), and Magoober
Petunia - No nickname, but she does not look like a Petunia
Checkers - Rufus
Ella - No nickname
Simon - Luke (His name used to be Luke, and he looks like a Luke. I dunno why they changed it.)
Presley - No nickname
Ziggy - No nickname
Kirby - Prissy
Buttercup - Death Overlord (According to Travis)
Jackie - No nickname (That dog is evil, by the way...)
Maxi - Max
Mensu - No nickname
Tellico - No nickname, but who the hell names these dogs?
Mozart - Mo
Trooper - No nickname
Oh, and there's a cat with fangs. That's kinda... creepy...

Okay, now to get off topic of the dogs and such. Caroline and I have decided upon a really cool idea for the prom, and it's probably the only way I would go (Unless a guy asked me, but that's never gonna happen, so...). Anyways, the idea was that the theme of the prom should be the 30s. There would be swing dancing (and even though I can't swing dance I would learn for that) and I could get a really cool dress from that store in Cary Town whose name I keep forgetting since I've only been there once. I think it's called Bygones or something. I'll hafta ask Caroline again. Wow, it's sad that I've only been to Cary Town twice. And I love that place too. Okay, back to the prom idea. I would also get a sexy fedora (lol, Caroline), and there would be lots of cool jazz music and such playing. Ohhh, that would be so much fun.
New subject. As I was watching The Simpsons, I saw a new trailer for The Return of the King. Oh my god, I'm sooooo excited about that! It sucks though, since this is the last one, and there won't be another Lord of the Rings movie to look forward to next year. Unless you count the extended DVD of Return of the King. That'll be sweet. Oh, and the music from the last movie sounds sooo pretty! I'm still figuring out the Gondorian theme for the trumpets in my first period class. Hah, like they'll play it if I give it to them. Now, if it was another song from Pirates of the Caribbean... You know, I should figure out another song from Pirates of the Caribbean. Get that stuck in my head instead of The Black Pearl. We get new music for concert band tomorrow. YAY! I was sooo tired of playing our winter concert pieces. Oh, and apparently, symphonic band is playing The Bells of Christmas on Friday, which Mr. Stegner never informed me of. But I know now, so I'll just mention it tomorrow. And I get to miss class on Friday, which is always a plus. Well, it's getting late, so I better go. 'Til tomorrow!

7:45 pm

I've decided to make my own live journal. Yeah, go me! Well, let us begin. Okay, well, today I had to go to work at RAL. That was soooo much fun... Yeah, it's really fun to walk dogs in the pouring rain that feels like ice needles are stabbing you in the head. Woot... One cool thing though. There's this pine tree along the road where we walk the dogs that's been bent to a 45 degree angle because of the hurricane. I was walking Lisa (or "Shoutin' Lisa Trombone" as I now call her, yeah, I know the song is "Shoutin' Liza Trombone" but I don't care. I'm such a band geek.) and as I passed the tree I noticed that someone had taped a star to the top of it. That's really cool. Bent Christmas tree spirit. Go that person! Oh, and after we were all done cleaning the cages, no one wanted to go back outside so we were getting into the cages with the dogs. I accidently locked myself in the cage with Sparkle, which was fine until she started biting my ponytail and other parts of myself and I couldn't get out. One of the new guys let me out though. I'm sure he was laughing in his head, but then one of the other new guys locked himself in a cage too. Ahh, the joys of my RAL crew. We have come up with some nicknames for the dogs, but, uhh, since The Simpsons are on right now, I'm going to head off and tell them later. Bye!

Back
