Welcome
One of the oldest natural breeds in North America, the Maine Coon is actually considered to be a native of Maine (and is the Maine state cat). Maine Coons were well established more than a century ago as a hardy, natural breed of domestic cat, well equipped to survive the hostile New England winters. With their long fur, fluffy tails, and big "snowshoe" paws, this isn't difficult to believe.

Maine coons are recognised as the largest of the domestic breeds and are known for their gentle natures. They love to play and play hard and are a wonderful addition to any home enjoying the company of their people and other cats and dogs. Life is never dull with a coonie or two to keep you entertained and you will never be lonely with one of these delightful companions to share your home and fill your lap.

Hi I'm Jo, my hubby, AJ, and I share our home with our Coonies, Raggies and  Australian Cattle dogs. We became interested in adding a purebred cat to our family 8 yrs ago and after much research came down to 2 breeds that we thought would fit in purrfectly - Maine Coons and Ragdolls.

At that time there were not many breeders of either breed in Australia and we were lucky enough to meet Jacqui Richardson and her wonderful ragdolls and after a six month wait that is where our first purebred cats came from - Ragajac Ragdoll Cattery. We adopted 2 litter sisters from Jac and these wonderful girls with Jac's help introduced us to the world of purebred cats. I became interested in showing and we adopted two more ragdolls - both male show alters from Deb Pavy at Braveheart Ragdolls in Qld. These boys who have the most wonderful natures and type were the start of a new hobby and I have been successful showing since 2003.

Then in 2005 our very special Maine Coon boy - Uly was born in a litter belonging to our friends, Sue and Dick Wye, of Wyecoon cattery in Townsville Qld. It had been a long six year wait for our special coonie boy but he joined our family in Feb 2006 and fitted right in with the raggies and dogs. Then in Oct 2006 our special little girl Eve joined our family as our first breeding Queen. A huge thank you to Sue and Dick for entrusting this special girl to us.

We have been registered with WNCA, then WSCA, since getting our first purebred cats in 2000. And can say that the members of this association have made the experience of owning and showing purebred cats a pleasure.
