The Last Outpost
Description Points Match
This is a hypothetical battle depicting the fall of the last outposts of Rohan before helms deep. Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli join the few defenders of this small fort in slowing down the main Uruk Hai force. The Good player must destroy half of the enemy forces and still control the fort at the end, whilst the Evil player must be in total control at any time of the game to win.
If you want to play this battle with different forces, just choose twice as many attackers as defenders and have 300 points come on turn 10
Layout

This battle takes place at a fort in the middle of the table, the fort is at most 18" across. Around the fort are a few small buildings and fences. There are small patches of trees near both edges of the board.
Participants
On the Good side there is Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, a Captain of Rohan with shield, 4 Men of Rohan with sword and shield and 2 Men of Rohan with Bow. Eomer and 14 Riders of Rohan come on turn 10.

On the Evil Side there are 2 Uruk Hai Captains with sword and shield, 10 Uruk Hai with sword and shield, 10 Uruk Hai with pike, 6 Uruk Hai with crossbow, 5 Uruk Hai Berserkers, 8 Uruk Hai with just swords,4 Goblin Captains with sword and shield, 8 Goblins with sword and shield, 8 Goblins with spear, and 8 Goblins with bow.
Starting Positions

The good side sets up inside the fort and the evil side sets up on the right board edge. Eomer and is riders come on the left board edge on turn 10.
Objectives

The good obectives are two destroy half of the evil force and still control the fort. The Evil objective is to control the fort at any time of the game, no good models can be in the fort for it to be a victory

Points Match

In order to play this battle with points use 3 times as many evil forces as good forces.

Layout

This battle can be played on a 4' x 4' table with a small river running approximately 10" from one side of the table with a ford running through the middle of it, the opposite edge is covered in a mountain with a valley running through the middle of it; around the mouth of the ford there are bushes and miscelaneous cover. The ford is the only way to cross the river. There is a road that goes through the ford and the valley and a crossroads in front of the ford.

Starting Positions

Erkenbrand and all the men of Rohan, Erkenbrand, and the 2 foot captains start up defending the ford. 8 Riders of Rohan and a Captain of Rohan enter near the ford on turn 4 and the rest of the Good side comes on turn 8.

40 Uruk Hai with sword and shield, and 2 Uruk Hai Captains come on from each of the three road ends leading to the crossroads. The Wargs, Sharku, and 20 Uruk Hai with sword and shield come on turn 4 in a randomly selected point of the three road ends. The rest of the Uruk Hai come on turn 10 in the same way as the wargs.
Description

This depicts the Rohirrim defence of the ford of the river Isen, the western border of Rohan against the vangaurd of the main Uruk Hai force.

Participants

On the good side there is Erkenbrand (stats in the Rules section) with sword, shield and the Horn of Rohan; 14 warriors of Rohan with sword, shield and throwing spear; 8 warriors of Rohan with bows; 26 Riders of Rohan; 2 mounted Captains of Rohan with sword and shield; 2 Captains of Rohan on foot; 3 Haldirs elves with bows; 3 Haldirs Elves with 2 handed swords;

On the evil side there are 60 Uruk Hai with sword and shield, 60 Uruk Hai with pikes, 3 Uruk Hai Captains with sword and shield, Sharku and 3 Warg Riders.
Objectives

The Good objectives are to hold the fords for 10 turns or more.
The Evil player must hold the ford for 3 or more turns.
