Cliched, heard it all before, get the idea? Truth Hurts seems to be caught in the man bashing area of music. What an easy way to scare off male fans. But female fans won't find much here either. All of Truth's tracks sound like rejects off of Monica, Toya, or Sunshine Anderson's CDs. All of those CDs I would highly recommend over this album. Dr. Dre doesn't know how to set up an artist, looks don't go very far in this game. And proteges get dropped faster than a dime. With so many good female R&B artists out there, why waste your time with Truth Hurts. Here is a review of the songs:

1. Push Play - Truth starts off on a mediocre note; voice is a little out of tune, cliche right off the bat, etc. Push next track here. 6/10

2. Addictive feat. Rakim - A very unusual and somewhat annoying song. And to think that Truth was offered an opera scholarship? 3/10

3. Next To Me - There has to be a good side to this album, so far not so. Bland midtempo filler. 4/10

4. Jimmy - A story is trying to be conveyed on this song but would hook you even to actual pay any attention. 3.5/10

5. Grown - A funky beat that get your ears up from sleeping but still a musty song. 6.5/10

6. This Feeling - The piano is nice, shelf life might run thin after a while. 7/10

7. Tired - Sounds like every other track. Skip over this one. 3.5/10

8. Not Really Lookin' - Hot beat, gonna give it to her, this is probably the best song on the CD. 7.5/10

9. B.S. - Truth is quite the woman, I have had enough man-bashing in one album. 1/10

10. Queen Of The Ghetto - Someone should dethrone her, okay beat but nothing special. 6/10

11. The Truth feat. R. Kelly - Figures you'd find R&B's most shameless man on this album. Beyond all that, I can't find any good in this song. 3/10

12. Real - Apply the "Addictive" formula, works to some point. 5/10

13. Hollywood - Nothing more than a track filler with no strong beat. Come on... 3/10

14. Do Me - You can tell from the title it is a classy song, not. I feel like I'm on a bad talk show. 0/10

Outshined in so many ways. Truth never really plants herself down as her own person but rather a forgettable one-hit wonder. Instead of this album, try Toya's TOYA, Aaliyah's AALIYAH or Olivia's OLIVIA. You get attitude with style. Truth just doesn't deliver. Overall it gets a 4.21

BOTTOM LINE: Truthfully speaking, it's a complete waste of your money.
