These pages are for those of us who read all the wonderful speaker design pages on the web, but balk at $100 (US) drivers and such. I think my time is valuable, and speaker enclosures seem to gobble copious quantities of MDF and other materials. But I can't bring myself to spend more than $20 for drivers. I will be adding speaker projects as I build them, and I think I'll do at least a couple of amplifiers. No valves here, I am a BJT and MOSFET kinda guy. Face it: every speaker project is a big risk. Primary among these risk is unfinished projects, but other things such as poor sounding speakers, bodily injury lifting 20Hz subwoofers, and low SAF (Spouse Acceptance Factor) lower the morale of us speaker building people. |
