Other than that, more work is being done on the new album and new shows are popping up.  We will be playing some more shows in the "Nursing Home Circuit" then hopefully some more around town.

Yesterday we had one of the most unique show experiences ever, mostly because of the obscureness of the show itself.  About 2 weeks ago we were invited to play at the ADDY award banquet, which is where a big group of advertisers get together and give out awards for the best advertisements.  This year, the theme was "Andy Warhol," so we were instructed to play a bunch of cover songs from the 60's era, and we did.  In only 2 weeks we learned over 20 new songs.  The show was quite lengthy and consisted of 2 sets (
listed here) and a guest appearance by our great friends, Perwinkle and the Vivid Tangerines, who played an amazing show of their own earlier that night.  Last night marked a few first for the Strangers.  It was the first night to fly our brand new banner!!!  It's big, it has our name on it, and if you ask it a question, it probably won't respond.  It was also the first night we had a projection screen displaying our "rock" above our heads durning the show.  Here is the photographic evidice, (again thanks to my mom)

Last week we played another show!!!???!  This is all we ever do anymore.  I remember when we would just tote our instruments to someones house and play videogames instead of music.  Oh wait, that was last month.  Ah, the good ol' days.  Anyways, last Friday, February 21st, we played at Northland Chrisitan Church's Overtime event.  It was a lot of fun and a solid show.  Here's a pic snapped by my mom:

There's a whole lot of news, but unfortunately, I can't report it all until it is more confirmed, I'm talking set in stone.  But for now be sure to check the shows page to see our new show dates.

The Boobie Trap is currently hosting a poll of favorite local bands,
click your mouse right here, and vote for...well who ever you want to, or The Strangers who are in the "Regional Poll II" on the bottom half of the page.

Keep an eye out (and one in) for the new Branded commercials on channel 27.  In the background you will hear The Strangers' song "My Grandparents Are Here."  Also be sure to shop at Branded.

Spring Break 2003.  Just one year ago we were recording our first cd.  Now we are ready to release our second one!  Our new cd, entitled "The Strangers Sampler" will be available at our upcoming shows.  Because of our busy schedules, we were not able to take time and record a new album, but we wanted you to be able to have these new songs.  So what's happened is this:  The new cd is a "sampler" - hence the name, of various demos, bootlegs and covers.  Because these are demos, the quality is nowhere near perfect, but the tracks have been mastered so they sound the best that they can.  Here is what the cover looks like:

Like I said before, the cd will be on sale at our upcoming shows, which are these:
April 4th - Jayhawk Tower w/ The Primetime Heroes, Cold Turkey, and others
April 5th - The Boobie Trap w/ Periwinkle and the Vivid Tangerines, Cash Gal
April 18th - Lazio's Coffee Shop w/ Periwinkle and the Vivid Tangerines.  This is an acoustic show, and it's FREE!

Quick Update!!!  The new cd is finished!!!(see the 03/21/03 entry for details).  It has 20 songs on it and will be available at the upcoming shows.  For those dates see the 03/21/03 schedule again, or the shows page for even more detail.  These shows should be more fun than digging a hole to China, so I hope everyone can make it.
