As reported by CBC News on Monday December 18th, students are filing a class action lawsuit against York University for liabilities incurred due to the strike. This broadcast, along with additional information will be posted on The Student Circle website. If you are interested in being a part of the lawsuit and/or helping out, here is what you can do:

We know for sure that the school year is going to be extended into the end of May. As well, York is eliminating reading week and two weeks of classes. We need to make a list of everything students will lose because of this, or any other effect of the strike. This can include:

- Time lost from work, whether it be in the winter or summer.
- Extra rent, food, telephone, laundry, cable, babysitting, transportation or any other expenses.
- Your tuition fee, and the cost of any courses you are dropping because of the strike.
- Lost opportunities to get into graduatte school.
- For international students, fees such as extending UHIP or VISA.
- Problems getting OSAP loans because yoou cannot register in winter courses.
- Extra travel arrangments, and emotionaal stress caused by the strike.
- Any courses where the instructor refusses to or is unable to teach in York's new extended schedule.
- Any other liability that you have incuurred due to the strike.

If possible, please include the best estimate of the dollar amount that each of the above will cost you.

It would also be helpful to indicate if you are graduating this year, and what kind of program you are in.
