Directions to Sportsman's Park

Location:
Woodland Avenue (ext.)
Punxsy, PA 15767

Directions:
COMING FROM 119 SOUTH (via INDIANA):
[this would be the most likely route from Pittsburgh]

Follow 119 into town until you reach the first stop light (at the junction with Rte. 36/Mahoning Street). You should be able to see Subway off to your left from the light. Turn right at this light onto Mahoning Street (Rte. 36 South). Follow 36 into town and continue through town until you get to the stop light before the bridge (out of town). You should be able to see the Civic Center (Library, Police, & Fire Dept.) off to your right at 90 degrees.

Go across the bridge and drive past the Mary A. Wilson elementary school on your right. Drive past the Post Office on your right. The street immediately after the Post Office is Oakland Ave. Don't take Oakland, but take the second street (Woodland Avenue) on your right. I think there is still a sign there pointing right reading "To Gobbler's Knob" (that's where the groundhog sees his shadow every February and is basically where we are having the show).

Follow Woodland Ave out of town and veer right around the curve at the top of the hill. Then look on your left for a building in the back of a large lot, surrounded by a closed (yellow/green) gate. This is Sportsman's Park. If you go too far, you'll immediately pass a brick house on your left, with brick columns at the end of the driveway, and if you keep going straight along that road, you'll eventually end up on 119 South.

COMING FROM 119 NORTH (via DUBOIS):

Follow 119 into town and pass the Groundhog Plaza (with County Market) on your right and continue to the stop light. You should be able to see the Civic Center (Library, Police, & Fire Dept.) off to your right at 45 degrees. At this light, you want to turn left (onto Route 36) and cross the bridge above the murals. Go across the bridge and drive past the Mary A. Wilson elementary school on your right. Drive past the Post Office on your right.
