In June 2001 the Ferret injured his ankle doing a floater on a wild and windy day. The 18 month road to recovery was hard to navigate. Cortisone, Doctors and his own mistakes made the recovery difficult and dangerous. His ankle will never be what it was. But he is back in the water, surfing better than ever and a little wiser .
His advice for anyone considering cortisone injections is don't do it! Just be patient and let your body heal itself even if it takes a year or two. His personal experience with the drug was not good.
