Dear Valued Patrons,

Some of you may have already heard the good news, but I want to take this opportunity to explain briefly what is in store for the Lee Playhouse during the next year. Construction has begun on our new Technical Facility located behind the theater. This new building will provide new rehearsal space, costume storage, and set construction area. The main theater will undergo a much needed renovation that will begin at the conclusion of this production and continue until late March 2010. When we reopen for our May 2010 production of Pippin we will share the facility with the Army Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES). Because AAFES will show movies in the theater, we will no longer offer Friday evening performances. However, we will add a Sunday afternoon matinee for each production. In other words, each production will have three Saturday evening performances and three Sunday afternoon performances.

Unless you are a Friday evening subscriber, you will not be affected. For those of you who are Friday evening subscribers, please consider choosing the newly offered, first Sunday matinee of each production or choose one of the existing Saturday evening performances. We will make every effort to seat you in your same seats of or as close to them as possible.

Everyone’s seating will be affected somewhat as the renovation includes new, wider seats with cup holders and floor lighting for your safety. We will gladly work to accommodate your seating needs.

As you can see, we will not have a subscriber season next year. Reservations for our May 2010 production of Pippin may be made by calling the box office at (804) 734 6629. Each of our season subscribers will receive the 2010-2011 schedule of productions in plenty of time to order tickets. I am confident you will enjoy the shows in our “new” theater.

The Lee Playhouse family apologizes for being unable to provide a subscriber season next year. We appreciate your understanding as we make your theater better and safer for all of us and look forward to your return as we resume our subscriber season for 2010-2011.
