I'm Greg Kay, the author and publisher of the books on this site. From content to cover (except for THE CODE OF HONOR) these are my creations. These books are self-published for one reason: because they're unique. The stories are original and the subject matter, often as not, is controversial. You won't find anything like these on the shelves of your average bookstore. If you're tired of the same old rehashed plots, stale scenarios, and cookie-cutter characters, you've come to the right place. I began writing fiction seriously back in the 90s, but I've been a published author of non-fiction for 30 years. Since then, I've picked up publication credits ranging from The West Virginia Woodsman to East Texas Today to the APPALACHIAN HEART and SHORT SCARY STORIES anthologies. For the past several years, I've been a correspondent for The First Freedom newspaper, where I have a regular column. Why should you buy a self-published book? A better question would be why you should let some suit in the publishing monopoly decide what you're allowed to read, and let him make big money while the author gets a mere pittance, when he's not being ripped off entirely? Freedom of the press means nothing unless you own a press, and self-publishing is the only truly public press out there; everything else is censorship in one way or another. Self-published books must stand or fall on their own merits, not on public relations campaigns or talking heads telling you what to read.
