I more or less look upon Cairo nowadays as my second home. If I'm not in England, good chance I'll be in Cairo. I do not know what draws me to Cairo, as it is over populated, polluted, noisy basically everything I hate about cities, but Cairo is my idea of heaven. The people are very friendly, once you know which ones are out to rip you off. The food is cheap and delicious. When I'm in Cairo I always stay in one hotel and one hotel only. The Sultan. It is on a little market street, the main entrance to the building leaves a lot to be desired, but once in.....There are 5 hotels on the five floors. All cheap and basic. Price varies depending on what floor you are on, as the lift does not work. I could quite happily live in Cairo for a very long time. I have a few ideas on how to earn just enough to live on. |
