South Africa in '95, was a great place to be. Nelson Mandela had not been in power long, it was not that violent, although it was dangerous to walk the streets at nite. I stayed and worked in Kempton Park. A pit near the airport. It was a fun time. I stayed with Jessica, who I met on the Kibbutz a few years before.

Her father had just been released from hospital after a mental breakdown. Then I turned up. I think he ended up back there. They asked me to leave their house, which actually made me come home, otherwise I would have stayed a lot longer. We never kept in touch after I left South Africa. Shame......

I spent 4 days on safari in Kruger Nat. Park. It was excellent. I wish it could ahve been longer. We saw all the Big 5.
