Committee Chairman Report –The spaghetti dinner will be Sunday, March 21st at 12:00 at the Baptist church.  The Scouts will need to be there early to set up and they will help in the serving and clearing of dishes.  Just a reminder… 100% of the monies earned will go to each Scout’s account.  The money can be used for camp or any other Scout expense. The money earned from the “walk-ins” will go into the general account to offset the cost of Troop advancements.  Tickets are available from Melissa Balog.  Jane Mannion will help Tim organize and purchase prizes for the top sellers.  All parents are asked to purchase or bake cookies for the dessert table at the spaghetti dinner.  The Troop’s new website is www.thetroop55.com.  Please visit to check out the minutes that are posted.  There is also an archive, so you can look back at previous minutes.

   Balance on hand -  $1,236.13

The second installment for camp is due at the next meeting.  The amount due is $100. In April, the next installment of $100 will be due, with the balance of $75 due in May.  Of course, any spaghetti dinner money that is earned can be applied to offset the cost of camp.

Scoutmasters Report – We had the mini Court of Honor at the last meeting.  Paintballing was a big success.  It is Paul’s goal to have a 1 parent representative from each patrol go on the Scout only trips.  This will help things run more smoothly.  As a reminder, on Family activities, everyone is welcome.  On Scout only trips, adult participation is kept at a minimum.  The Troop has elected new positions and Paul asked for volunteers to help oversee the boys in their duties.  This would involve answering any questions the boys might have, giving direction, and helping if necessary.  Rita Shaw will oversee the Quartermaster position.  Stacy Camenson will oversee the Historian.  Diane Poarch will oversee the Troop Instructor.  Mary Beth Baldiviez will oversee the Librarian.  Paul Klausner will oversee the Scribe.  We are still looking for a donation of a laptop.
Outdoor Activities – The Mitchell Caverns trip is coming up – 3/26-3/28.  This is not a family camp.  The boys are to bring a bike. The new patrol will meet at the church on the 23rd to plan for the upcoming trip.  The cost of the trip will be announced at Tuesday’s meeting (16th) with a flyer available.  The Joshua Tree trip is reserved.  A flyer will be out soon.

Other Activities – Family Movie Night will be Friday, April 30th at 6:00.  6:00 will be dinner, 6:30 movie.  The movie will be Secondhand Lions.  Paul is still investigating Camp Whitset for the 2005 year.  He will be adding a link on the troop website for parents and Scouts to check out this camp.  Diane Poarch announced that she will be resigning from the Secretary’s position as of June.  The troop will need a new secretary at that time (or sooner).
