Committee Meeting

Discussions:
Summer Camp - Camp Whitsett dates have been changed to July 3-9 due to possibility of lengthened school year. There are a few scouts that cannot go that date who may together attend a different camp with another troop.
Summer Camp Attendance - Cindy Geers brought up fact that few older scouts are signed up for camp and would like to encourage their attendance. Pleased sign up at the March 15 meeting. Camp payment: First installment is $75 by March 15, second installment of $120 due March 15 or mail by end of month to: Pam Maynard, 2135 Horsetail Drive, Redlands CA 92373
Summer Camp 2006 - Tim Balog suggested making reservations for Camp Mataguay for Summer 2006. Cindy Geers will make the call. Camp Cherry Valley has been secured for July 1-6, 2007.
Joshua Tree Camp is pending. The campgrounds are not available until summer, which is generally extremely hot. Cindy will keep checking.
Calico Campout - Dave Dahler will check availability of campsite at Calico Mining Town.
Game/Movie Night will be rearranged when gym dries out.
Winter Sports Badge - The rescheduled Snow Valley ski/snowboard trip was a success.
Achievements/Court of Honor - Kevin Herrick expressed concern that the younger scouts are not getting achievements signed off in a timely manner. A meeting will be called at Kevin’s home for the younger boys, to explain the process of keeping track of blue cards, having their books signed off and keeping a journal of hikes, etc. including dates. Dates were discussed for Courts of Honor. Courts of Honor are held quarterly for scouts to advance. Next Board of Review - April 19, Court of Honor - May 1.
Annual Dues - Annual dues was due in February. If you have not already paid, please bring $45, check or cash to March 15 meeting or mail to: Pam Maynard, 2135 Horsetail Drive, Redlands CA 92373.
Uniforms - It was brought to our attention that the boys were not given the option of keeping Class A uniforms as waist up (belt, shirt, neckerchief, slide, sash and hat) pants, shorts, jeans would be the choice of the individual. The boys will take another vote.
Paul Klausner Care Package - The Eagle Patrol is to bring donated items to be sent in Paul’s care package for the month of March. The Dragon Patrol is designated for April.
Meeting March 15 - Bob Turner will demonstrate lighting lightweight camp stove. Tim Balog plans to demonstrate first part of the Compass Badge that evening.
Website - the troop55 is up and running. Please check often to keep abreast of events.
FYI - Brad Burns is having major health issues at this time. Be sure to check on Brad and his family for any needs.
Fundraisers:
Spaghetti Dinner ticket sales - Sign up sheets will be available at March 15 meeting to sell tickets at Jensen’s Market or Rite Aid in Blue Jay. Scouts are to wear their uniforms when selling tickets and work in pairs. Remember, all proceeds from ticket sales go directly to your camp fund or dues.
Rummage Sale - May 28 - We are hoping to be able to gather items Friday, May 27 to begin sorting and organizing before the Saturday sale. Tim Balog will check to see is gym is available Friday night.

No meeting April 5 due to Spring Break.
Committee Meeting - 7:00 pm, April 12.
Board of Review - April 19 at monthly meeting.
Afton Canyon Camp & Bike Hike - April 23-24. Sign up at March 15 meeting.
Court of Honor - 3:30 pm, May 1 - Baptist Church (following Spaghetti Dinner)

Miramar Naval Air Base Tour - rescheduled date is Saturday, May 14. Call Gary Stricker with questions.
Rummage Sale - Saturday, May 28, Baptist Church Gym
Summer Camp - Whitsett - July 3-9. Summer camp has been rescheduled due to the possibility that the
school year may have to be extended for inclement weather/road conditions.
Mount Whitney Hike/Camp - Aug. 8. Contact Gary Poarch for details.
