                                                  Committee Meeting
                                                  May 11, 2004

Meeting called to order at 7:05 p.m.

Parents in attendance - Tim Balog, Melissa Balog, Jane Mannion, Vivian Klausner, Stacy Camenson, Joanne Turner, Wendy Stricker, Rita Shaw, Brad Burns, Annette Arjani, Shelley DePry, Tom Amato, Jannette Richard, Diane Poarch.

Minutes - The minutes from the March 9, 2004 meeting were read, approved, and will be filed as corrected.

Committee Chairman Report –Tim talked about the need for a trailer for the Scouts to use when camping or traveling. We are reaching the point where we cannot transport boys and gear by car. Tim will research the cost.  We are also in need of additional troop tents.  Tim would like to purchase Coleman “Sundome” 7x7 3 person tents.  If anyone sees these on sale, please let Tim know.  Cindy Geers would like to post pictures on the website.  Tim asked for input.  All seemed to think this seems like a good idea, but we will ask parents to sign some sort of release for pictures only—no names attached. Diane Poarch will bring a sample release form to the next meeting.  The Dahlers are moving this weekend and could use extra help.  If you are interested, please call them.
Treasurer’s Report –
   Balance forward -  $3,456.02
   Total Deposits -        5,441.28
   Total Disbursements -   4,378.11
   Balance on hand -  $4,519.19

The last installment for camp is due at the next meeting.  The amount due varies per Scout.  Please call Melissa for the exact amount. The medical forms can be turned in next week, but must be in by June 1st.  All money must be paid, as our position at camp is held by our payment and we still owe.  We do not want to lose our reservation if the fees are not collected.  Please be responsible.  The deposit check for Camp Whitset (Sequoia, 2005) has been cashed, but we have not officially heard we are reserved.  Vivian will check on this.

Scoutmasters Report –Paul is absent.
Outdoor Activities –The hike that was scheduled for sometime in May has been postponed to possibly June 5th.  There is a Fishing Merit Badge scheduled for that date and Tim will check with Dave Dahler to see if that is still set.  If the hike is a go, it will be a hike down the face of the hill, if the weather is temperate.  If it is hot, we will hike around the lake.  (10 mile)  Bob Turner wants to hike Vivian Creek (San Gorgonio) on June 20th (Father’s Day).  This is a 16-mile, difficult hike.  Camp Cherry Valley is scheduled for July 4-11.  All parents will need to drive their child to the San Pedro departure place.  There will not be carpooling for this due to the amount of gear that needs to be transported.  You can send your child with another parent if you make personal arrangements.
Other Activities – Family Movie Night has been postponed.  There will be a Court of Honor Sunday, May 23, at 3:00. (We will need to do a Board of Review at this next meeting.  Parents, we need your help with this, so come if you can.) Joshua and Jacob Balog’s Eagle Court of Honor will be Saturday, June 19th at 3:00.  Dinner will be served immediately following.  Please mark your calendars.

Upcoming calendar:

Respectfully submitted,
