Comments: Hi! I would like to hear more about other people's experiences with INS. I have been here for over 3 months now after marrying my US fiancee. We now live on the USAF base he is stationed at. We have had so much hassle with our application for "adjustment of status" it is unbelievable. We are now about to send the package for the third time. Every other tim ethey have rejected it for the most stupid reasons, but the most annoying thing, is that these things are due to them not detailing all their requirements on the original forms. For example, my package was returned because I was wearing my glassses on my photos, but nowhere on the form, did it specify no glasses. We have had to pay a fortune for my medical ($250), and had to travel to various parts of the region to get fingerprinting, medical etc done. As a military dependant, I could have had such things done on base, for free...but of course, INS wont accept this. And because they keep returning our application we are now very much delayed in getting my green card and thus, my legal ability to work. And we so desperately need the money that my working would provide. We really are at our wits end about it all, it just seems to go from bad to worse. Is my experience common? And will I ever get my application processed and get my damn green card before I reach midlife?!!

You will be happy to know that Kay finally got things sorted out with the INS and will be job hunting soon.
