The Swiss Chat Corner

Once in a while, we meet up in MY PRIVATE CHAT ROOM where you will also find a Message Board in case you miss us, so come on in and meet the gang! (By the way, my handle is 'Swiss'!)

REXA... is a "transplanted" Swiss like a lot of us and now lives in Northern California. One of the wittiest and funniest ladies I've ever met, Rexa is never at a loss for a quick come-back! At the same time, she is also a very compassionate and caring human being, and it is a privilege to know her.
Rexa keeps trying to win the jackpot in the casinos of Vegas so she can take us all to Hawaii (and that's a promise she made to us which was witnessed by people around the world in the Chat, so she can't back out of it!), but so far it hasn't happened. We're all keeping our fingers crossed...

HAUI... also an "ex-pat" Swiss, now residing in Panama. Haui owns a restaurant there and his graphic descriptions of the night's menu in the Chat make our mouths water! He is also a wizard at HTML and never refuses to help anyone out with advice and tips on the subject. A very dry humour is Haui's trademark, and we can't wait to visit him one of these days, as he promised us dinner on the house!

DUKE... came to live in Oregon a few years back from his native Switzerland. Kind, caring, funny and the best friend you could ever ask for... Duke is happiest barrelling down the highway on his motorcycle; he also loves his Mac, which we won't hold against him.

GRIZZLY... is not in the Chat as often as we'd like him to be, but then he does have a life... :-)
Griz presently studies economics in Seattle, and as soon as he's done with that, he'll make us all rich with his expert advice!

ALASKA... Alaska lives in Anchorage, where he takes care of the School Board's computers. His most endearing quality is his total and absolute honesty, and he's one of the kindest people you'll ever come across...if you're feeling blue, Alaska will tap-dance for you to cheer you up, or sing a song for you (ouch!!), whatever it takes...he's funny, never plays games with people, and dotes on his family. Careful though - mention the word "fishing" around Alaska, and he's "hooked"!

DAYDREAMER... originally from Vietnam, now living in Montreal, there is no kinder soul on the 'net... sensitive, funny, and always willing to listen to people, that's "Day". Day is working hard to become a web designer, and if his first efforts are any indication, he'll be very successful at it!

CHREGU... hails from Luzern, now lives near Vancouver, B.C. Our dear two- finger typist, creating suspense in the Chat every time someone asks him a question - when will the answer come back?? ;-)
He's just got himself a brand-new computer with all the bells and whistles on it, and is always exploring new technology; Chregu also likes hiking and fishing (his wife ties the flies - what a partnership!).

DRACO... , my companion in life who prides himself on being "computer-free", but who was addicted to the Chat within a day when I was out of town for a couple of weeks...! Generous to a fault, this man practically invented patience and kindness...both of which he badly needs to put up with me! A big heart and a great sense of humour, that's Draco. Love ya... :-) !

TH..., the crazy lady from West Virginia! She runs a B&B in her small town of Helvetia and stays up till the wee hours of the morning to chat...do you EVER sleep, TH?? TH is a warm and funny lady, and readily admits to her status as a "blonde" which makes her that much more endearing to us all!

BRISBANE..., another ex-Swiss, lives in... (well, you know!). With two lovely teenage daughters just entering University, he's got his hands full playing chauffeur, juggling timetables and generally watching over them like a hawk...yet he still finds time to drop into the Chat once in a while just to say "hi" and brag about the nice hot weather in Australia...

SPLAT..., from California. An avid skier and mountain-climber, check out his web site for some fabulous pics! Splat was fortunate enough to be part of an Everest expedition this spring as Base Camp Manager, and his daily e-mail reports from the roof of the world made for fascinating reading.

GATO... , hails from Willisau in Switzerland (where they make those AWESOME cookies!!). A sweetheart of a guy, and a mean backgammon player! Gato runs the computers for the local distillery (how'd you ever land THAT job Gato??), and in his spare time is heavily involved in the local 'Fastnacht', making masks, costumes etc.

NUXODOM... , the computer programmer from Florida (yep - a real-life NERD!!)...although not an original member of the PALS in Swiss Chat, Nux's sense of humour and truly caring nature definitely warrant him a spot in this rogue's gallery. A terrific backgammon player (although he gets quite abusive when you beat him!), he's kept on his toes by family, his beloved malamutes, assorted snakes, sugar gliders and god knows what else lives under his bed...an all-round nice guy and a great friend (and I just know this'll go to his head and he'll be MURDER to chat with after he reads this!)

So many more people could be mentioned in here, but I don't think my server would let me have an extra 5MB of space...but I do want to acknowledge CANADA who runs a B & B and drives a cab up in Kitimat, B.C. - a hard-working and funny lady... TD, the mad Chef from Tasmania, and PERFECT STRANGER, in New Jersey, who has just become a proud new grandfather.
