I have finished the fourth and last semester of my Masters. So right now I am done with all the requirements for my Masters. Following are the courses I have completed successfully up to this point.

Spring 1999
Fall 1999

State Machine Design and Architecture
Introduction to Robotics
Digital Control Systems

Analog VLSI Design
Non Linear Systems
Advanced Linear Algebra

Spring 2000

Digital Image Precessing
Problems in Advanced Robotic Systems
Gas Turbines and Jet Propulsion

Currently I am in the process of completing the following course.

Fall 2000

Problems in Controls Software

In addition to the above classes I have also completed 4 credit hours of thesis research. And I am conducting the following projects for the UW Hexapod Research Laboratory while acomplishing this research.

As for my thesis, it is "Initial Target Acquisition Using a CCD Camera System for the UW Hexapod".

A hexapod is a platform with six legs, whose lengths are controlled to move the platform to various orientations. In the current control algorithms used to control the University of Wyoming (UW) hexapod, the position feedback is obtained through the illumination of a position sensing detector (PSD) by a laser. But the current system does not have an efficient ability to obtain the initial laser lock. This thesis describes a method to obtain the initial laser lock through the use of a charge couple device (CCD) Camera system. This thesis describes the design of the CCD camera system, the image-processing algorithm used to locate a target, calibration of the CCD image data to the PSD data and the implementation of the CCD system to control the hexapod using the current algorithms.

I have successfully completed the research and defended my thesis to my committee. Thus I have completed all the requirements for my Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering.

In addition to all this research I have also performed duties as a teaching assistant for the EE 4390 microprocessors class. My duties included teaching the lab sections for this class. This was a very interesting class since the students got to actually see some practical application of microprocessors in this lab.

Thanks a lot for showing interest in my course work and Thesis research. I will be posting progress on my thesis on this page so please come back regularly.
