Stonehenge

The stone circle at Stonehenge was built around 1800 B.C. by pre-Celtic inhabitants of the British Isles. Contrary to popular belief, the Druid priests of the later Celtic cultures had nothing to do with the monument's construction. Debates continue concerning whether the Druids made use of the place at all, but my own belief is that they probably did. Why not? It was there. Anyway, this picture was taken on a cold, windy afternoon in March, 1993. There were no Druids in sight.
